The Canadian Fraser Institute has released its report evaluating how each country measures in security and safety, movement, expression and relationship freedoms.

Cool

THE KIWI's have topped these kinds of rankings for the past few years...

I remember looking at a similar list some 2 or 3 years ago, where Australia was #7, the UK in 8th, and the USA was outside the top 10 (something like 12th or 14th, I think it was..).

These latest results means that both Australia and the USA have kept on steadily climbing that "freedom ladder" ~ while Britain under good ol' Dave C., Rebecca Brooks and Uncle Ruppert has managed to slide on down out of sight !      king

Unless it is the same author using the same measurements, it won't be a good measure of how things are changing.

Good for a little fun though.

Smile

IT'S an "institute" situated within a Canadian university, 'Andy, (as most such organisations usually are..) where they have been consistently collecting, measuring, analysing and collating the relevant data from the same or similar ranges of sources over several years...

ALL that this initial table really show us, is the relative positioning of each country in respect to one another, in regard to this "freedom index"..

TO get a more detailed analysis of just where each country has moved up or down, you would obviously have to visit that institute's annual report.  study

I think the top few countries are the ones where the people are more laid back.  For example, the other day I parked outside a shop in town to pick up some heavy bags.  Another man parked in front of me.  Along came a traffic warden, stopped the man in front who said "sure I won't be a couple of minutes".  Okay said the warden and sauntered on, totally ignoring my car.  Can you imagine that happening in the UK?

That's really sad; fourth place in the world is awesome. I think any government that isn't striving to top this list is illegitimate.
