incidently the thing that gives away the fact its a "propper" wolf is the slope on the front of the roof...

due to wolfs being fitted with an extra strong extra height roll cage....

I tell you you think "ordinary" Land rovers are strong, these things are built like the proverbial brick khazi

That's a cracking looking motor Vic but you had better stick a reg plate on it and fill out the off the road notice for the DVLA. lol. You'll probable get pulled over anyway and charged with carrying an offensive weapon on the bonnet as well.

Seriously, what's the cost for insuring that fully comp?

That's a really good quote considering what the replacement value would be and the cost of parts if it needed accident repair. You got a smashing deal on that.

Good luck with it - wish I had one but it's not really suitable for running the places I go.

its getting its "private reg" plate soon....for the moment it has a newly issued "civvie" reg (an R plate)
tee hee...only carry the pick and shovel when its very snowy...OR we are going "posing" at a landy owners club meeting

It was FFR (fitted for radio) but that was removed before it came to us...pity really...

NOW i'm going to have to do a load of "refitting for radio" and put my radio ham gear in there
then it will br FFR again ...only this time its "fitted fior RAYNET"

Raynet being the radioamateur emergency network....go google

guess who supplied the communications after the cumbrian flood paralysed the comms for the emergency services and put the mobile phone system out of use?????

Sweet ride, I just hope you get to take it where it was made to be -- someplace like this:

Rovers are a marvel of accessible and sustainable technology, at least through most of their history they have been. We'll be needing the story of how you found this with just 50,000 miles Smile

We had a landrover at work that was bristling with technology and fitted out with a PADS system (Position and Azimuth Determining System). It was old and battered battered and didn't look as smart as Vics thoiugh.

It broke down one day and another vehicle stopped to offer assistance and give it a tow. The van was from Capability Scotland (a charity) and it was brand new as well. Oh the shame Laughing

Good luck with yours Vic. I'm jealous.

You don't have to answer straight away as I'm away up the miners club for a couple of jars. I'll try and look in later.

Suspect

THE MOST unreliable car I've ever owned was a Series III Landie [6-cyl petrol]...

THOSE Series IIs and IIIs were truly crap..

AND don't get me started on their pathetic petrol engines ~ it's no wonder that one of the most popular LR upgrades is fitting a bigger and better engine.

(THE mid' 70's/early 80s LandRovers that replaced the Series III were a big improvement ~ with upgraded petrol and diesel engines, and the intro' of the P-76 based V8 petrol engines ~ though they still had the same drivetrain weakspots as the previous models..
The diesel model was the basis for the 1-tonne 4WD and 2-tonne 6WD utility vehicles for the Aussie Army at the time, with Toyota Landcruisers also being added in the late 1980s.
The Australian military started a changeover to Mercedes Benz-sourced models 2 or 3 years ago, totally phasing out all of the LandRovers and LandCruisers over the rest of this decade..).
