The Streets of Where I'm From

Post by Ben Reilly on Sun Jun 23, 2013 7:01 pm

First topic message reminder :

I thought it would be cool if we shared any videos out there about where we live. Here's one for my hometown, and yes, it does play up our cowboy heritage a bit more than I'd prefer:

(Also, the music reminds me of a trailer for a GTA game!)

"The Streets of Where I'm From" is a song by Old 97's about Fort Worth:

@nems

Shit hole quite literally

Sydney siders do not swim there, it is the sewerage outlet but for some reason tourists think it is great  confused confused confused

Better up the northern beaches or down just south of city

But Western Australia is even better, sure there may be sharks but the trade off is stuff like this

An old fort is Nice, But Sharing a tube with Dolphins is better.

Beautiful Veya.

The water meadows the other side of the road to me, at this time of year they flood, it's what they are designed to do.

 pirat

BONDI is 150kms south of here...

I'VE only been to Bondi once, and that was only to see what all the fuss was about, and to see what it actually looked like ~ and I have NO desire to go back..

YOU often have to play "Spot the Aussie" at Bondi and Manly, as the main beachgoers there are Kiwi, British and Scandinavian backpackers !

THERE isn't a single beach along the Sydney coastline that will compare with those between Norah Head and north towards Taree, nor up around Byron and Ballina..

And then there's Victoria and W.A.

Britain and France have nothing to compare with the beaches over here ~ apparently the only places in Europe that are really 'up to scratch' in the surfing stakes are to be found around the south of Portugal and Spain ?

THAT image reminds me of nothing less than what the surf break across the mouth of the southern channel of the Hunter River can look like, with the right combination of a 'King tide' and a NE or Easterly swell...
