Move over, T. rex. And take a seat, Argentinosaurus. Scientists have unearthed a newfound prehistoric giant that just may be the "world's largest dinosaur" yet discovered. Wow.

Researchers from the Museo Paleontologico Egidio Feruglio in Argentina unveiled the discovery of seven dinosaurs' remains this week in a series of photos that show off the substantial size of each of the ancient creatures' fossilized bones. The researchers uncovered more than 200 fossils in southern Argentina's province of Chubut.

Dubbed Titanosaurs, the specimens belong to a distinct group of sauropod dinosaurs that were characterized by their enormous stature and long necks and tails, and lived around 95 million years ago during the late Mesozoic Era. The fossil finds included bones from the dinosaurs' neck and back, along with pieces of the tail and legs.

Don't know why HuffPo would compare it to T. Rex, that species was tiny next to the great plant-eaters of its day Smile Guess they're just trying to appeal to the audience that doesn't know the first thing about dinosaurs ...

Still, an awesome find! Here's a paleontologist laying next to one of that creature's thigh bones:

They should not compare a herbivore to a carnivore.

It is an amazing find.

I would say there are more giants out there. An outstanding carnivore giant, yet to be found.

I just hope they find this gigantic carnivore in time for Jurassic Park 4 Smile And that they give feathers to the carnivores we know about in this outing, like we now know they actually had!

Great find, wasn't it Ben. I'm surprised you didn't put it in the Evolution or Creation topic. Never mind, it's food for thought as to what other fossils exist that haven't yet been found. Watch this space, as they say.
