HAD over 66mm of  rain here yesterday...
Some suburbs on the southern corners of the Lake had 266 and 231mm respectively..

Biggest one-day downfalls that have been seen around here in over a decade ~ over 26 years apparently for the village of Dora Creek !

The February rainfall, over four good downpours, totalled over 156 mm (that's over 6 inches, in the old money..) for just here in my back-garden alone ~ well over the local averages for the month..

Considering how little rain we've had since July (a handful of storms in October, November and December..), this has been more than welcome, despite some minor flooding... Shouldn't have to water for the next 6 or 7 days now..    ::cheerlead::

Nice, that reminds me of the kind of weather we get in Texas. No rain for months, then when it hits you better have something nearby that floats ...

“As man advances in civilization, and small tribes are united into larger communities, the simplest reason would tell each individual that he ought to extend his social instincts and sympathies to all members of the same nation, though personally unknown to him. This point being once reached, there is only an artificial barrier to prevent his sympathies extending to the men of all nations and races.”
