Every year, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration releases an Arctic Report Card, detailing the state of the frozen world at the top of the globe.

And each year, its findings grow more dire. This year, the report revealed that the Arctic itself may now be contributing to climate change. That’s because Arctic soil contains a lot of carbon, which would stay there if it weren’t for the fact that the planet is warming. As the frozen ground across the Arctic starts to thaw, it releases that carbon, which turns into a greenhouse gas. Some of that carbon gets taken up by plants growing in the summertime, but more and more of it is now escaping into the atmosphere.

“Thawing permafrost throughout the Arctic could be releasing an estimated 300-600 million tons of net carbon per year to the atmosphere,” the NOAA writes in the report. That’s roughly the equivalent of Japan’s annual emissions.

And those emissions are going to increase. “We think that should be two to three times bigger by the end of the century based on the kind of forecasting we’ve done,” Ted Schuur, an ecologist and the author of the report’s section on permafrost, said.

DopeyDawg, 'DYKnose and Gellibellico (and Tommykins, once he sobers up from the delirious joy of his man regaining the keys to #10 Downing St. yesterday..),  are all here to save the day..

I now await their rallying cries of "Greta Thunberg !", "Al Gore !" and "mini ice ages !".

Yeah that is just like you eddie

Never taking responsibility for what you say

You lost a friend today and no doubt that matters little to you

When someone basically as you did ridicules my apology and makes false assertions on me. How do you think that makes me feel?

You lost your way a long time ago. You used to stand up for people, but no longer it seems

Good luck to you and Ben, but you have lost my support for the pair of you

I value love, but I believe you really have no true idea on this. Even more so reading your book. For two people to think arguing is productive,. Says their relationship is more based on a make up system. When it should never be relied on. It says you both revel in arguments. Maybe this is some sexual come on to be angered and make up. I have no idea or care anymore. The pair of you, thinking you are the shinning beacon of love is a joke. Love is not based on being angry or at odds with each other.

The arguing in the book served the story, which is of a couple who have lost the ability to communicate properly because of a lack of honesty between them, and how they recover from that.

It's not modeled on our actual life together, though we heavily influence the personalities of the main characters.

It showed the lack of trust. Between two people and their very insecurities around relationships
It makes for a harder relationship when people feel this way
Its always good to air our opinions and get things off our chests, but no relationship should be built this way
Granted if this works for you, good luck

Its why many people will not relate to your book

Neither of you garnered a tune into how many people feel and only how you each feel

Yep I have been a wanker here and i will be very critical of people. Even more so when its a book and its based on the fears of two people

Having said that. I am not like either of them and will apologise if i have hurt their feelings

On that note. I wish them both well and the best possible future.

Though I will not be around here much anymore. I will pop in, but I have more important things to do

If that helps draw people back to this forum. The more the merrier, but I will not be much more on here

I was disappointed in what Eddie and eilzel said, but I can never stay angry with either of them. I wish them both the best

Take care all of you
