Matthew Boling, a high school senior from Houston Strake Jesuit in Texas, ran a 9.98 in the 100m on Saturday at the UIL Region 3-6A meet. It was the fastest 100m time in high school history.

The current world record for 100m is 9.58 seconds, held by Usain Bolt.

That puts Boling just .40 seconds behind the fastest man in the world.

Shocked

And he was slowest off the blocks as well and he is only 18. Not seen such a fast white sprinter in years

His nickname is white lightning

I hear the record is not going to count due to the headwind, but, he left the field behind him for dead
