Liberal Supremacy? Empty Re: Liberal Supremacy?

A bit long, but I've listened to enough to see where it is going. It seems to me that his example of illiberalism is the sole instance of illiberalism: religion. And then only sometimes.

In America, the founders hoped to wall off the problem by writing freedom of religion into the First Amendment to the Constitution. Now, anti-freedom forces are riding that sled into issues of social justice, refusing on religious grounds to decorate wedding cakes for gays.

I don't see any other identity or group other than religion, having such constitutional protections.

He is not claiming religion is the sole source of illiberalism

There is plenty also found within left circles today

One such leftist illiberal ideology, is intersectionality

Again we live in a liberal society and I fail to see why illiberal beliefs, should superscede liberal policies in law

But the only illiberal instance he can find to hold up, is religion. There has always been a tension between the authority of god and the authority of liberal humanism.

I don't see another example, however.

Is just one of a number of examples. You find also illiberal views on both the right and left as I say

Its simple using a specific incident that happened with the school protest by the Muslims. Pointing out that illiberal values are found with abrahamic religions

The concept with apply to any illiberal value

Here maybe this will help understand illiberal or what has come to be termed regresssive is outlined

I don't see another example than religion. And religion is a holdover from the core value (authority of god) of two thousand years ago...or, 1,400-years ago in Islam's case.

Well you never watched the video through did you mate?

Again the value is based on Liberal values.

Hence any illiberal value, no matter political or religious falls into the category of this

Anyway, the only thing I am really interested in here, is whether his claims to supremacy have any value or are they simple another form of Totalitarianism.

I see good and bad in his view points here and hence at a crossroads

Hence interested to what others think

Right have things to do
