Shocking photos show distressed Husky locked in car for TWO HOURS in suffocating 82F heat before police break in to set it free - as 'idiot' owners arrive and ask: 'What's the problem?'

Shocking pictures show a Husky in severe distress after being locked inside its owner's car for two hours as temperatures soared. The disturbing images show the pooch lying limp on the tarmac after being freed from the vehicle, which had been sitting in 29 degrees heat. A parking ticket on the car led those who discovered the dog to conclude it had been there for around two hours.

According to witnesses, when the owners did return to the car they reportedly gave false information to the police before becoming abusive. Samantha Claire Hardwidge and a colleague stumbled upon the husky in Swindon, Wiltshire, before sharing the pictures online yesterday.

Posting the pictures online, Samatha wrote: 'Shout out to the owners of this car who felt it appropriate to leave their husky in their car.

I hope they don't return the dog to it's owners. We have a husky, and have to wet him down when it gets too hot. They only place we can walk him in the heat is near water so he can cool off. Otherwise we keep him in, with the fan on. They can regulate their heat very well but only if there is some surrounding breeze or air movement. A hot car would kill anyone or anything.

pirat

The people who found the poor dog were nearly as stupid as it's owners...

Found the dog locked in the car;  called the police;  then photographed the scene and posted online..

If possible, and within reason,  I would have released the dog first --  especially if it was in obvious distress;  then called the police  --  and probably thumped the owners if they returned before the cops arrived, and tried to complain.

Then throw myself onto the mercies of Good Samaritan Laws and public opinion..

There are "Good Samaritan Laws" in many countries,  primarily aimed to helping people in distress/hurt or injured,  but also extending to domestic animals in many jurisdictions  --  while this provides a possible viable defence in both Oz and the USA, people should probably be more cautious in more backward countries in this regard --  including the UK.
