70th anniversary of the Nakba, or Catastrophe, as they Bury 55 victims of “a terrible massacre”

Post by veya_victaous on Tue May 15, 2018 7:07 am

the first funerals are expected to be held for 55 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces on Monday, the deadliest day since the end of the 2014 Gaza conflict.
Tuesday is the 70th anniversary of what Palestinians call the Nakba, or Catastrophe, when hundreds of thousands were expelled or fled amid the creation of Israel in 1948.

Weeks of angry protests were further enflamed on Monday by the opening of the US embassy in Jerusalem. While Ivanka Trump and other American dignitaries gathered in the afternoon sun to celebrate the embassy opening, the Gaza border was transformed into a scene of fire and chaos as tens of thousands of protesters faced Israeli snipers

In a speech in London the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan also criticised the embassy opening. "The United States has chosen to be a part of the problem rather than the solution with its latest step and has lost its mediating role in the peace process”

The UK’s Minister for the Middle East, Alistair Burt, said: “The violence today in Gaza and the West Bank has been shocking. The loss of life and the large number of injured Palestinians is tragic, and it is extremely worrying that the number of those killed continues to rise.
“Such violence is destructive to peace efforts. We have been clear that the UK supports the Palestinians’ right to protest, but these protests must be peaceful.

Extremely worrying?
For fucks sake, sniping at babies through a smoke filled field is a war crime.
How can ANYONE defend the indefensible?

I guess a few on here will try.

And 2400+ injured by gunfire.
If only half the bullets  fired hit a person that is over 5000 rounds indiscriminately fired into a crowd.
That is an attempted massacre, not crowd control.
It begs the question, what sort of human chooses to fire randomly into a huge crowd , probably using an inaccurate  machine gun or automatic firearm, with no specific target in their sights?
Following orders? Nah.
Out of control bloodlust? More likely.

Shortly before this roundup was published, the IDF announced that 24 of the 60 Palestinians killed were terrorists from Hamas or Islamic Jihad. The army also released details about how it prevented a mass border breach.

Palestinians managed to trash their side of the Kerem Shalom border crossing. It’s the third time they destroyed equipment and infrastructure at the crossing where Israel transfers food, fuel, medicine and humanitarian aid to the Strip. (Who gains? Hamas.)

By the way, Palestinians refused to allow 14 trucks carrying food and diapers to enter Gaza today, the Times of Israel reports. (Medical supplies were allowed through.) The Times notes, “It was not immediately clear why the border officials, who are employed by the Palestinian Authority, would not accept the shipments.”

Does the Media Really Understand the Gaza Violence? Thanks to the media, Gaza violence was always likely to be a win-win situation for Hamas. HonestReporting addressed a number of issues not raised in this roundup and the critique is must-read.

Archbishop Desmond Tutu called the killings a “massacre” after saying in December that “God was weeping” over Mr Trump’s decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
“I am deeply distressed and broken hearted by the massacre perpetrated by the State of Israel in Gaza yesterday,” he said in a statement. “People who recognise the humanity in others do not author or perpetrate massacres.”
South Africa and Turkey recalled their ambassadors to Israel in protest, and Turkey also withdrew its ambassador to the US with its president Recep Erdogan saying Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu “has the blood of Palestinians on his hands.”
Turkey’s deputy PM said the massacre would be remembered as “bloody Monday.”
But Mr Netanyahu hailed it as “a glorious day” as Ms Trump unveiled a stone plaque to the strains of “Hallelujah” in front of a crowd of 800 religious and political figures.
“Those provoking violence are part of the problem and not part of the solution,” Mr Kushner.
Sheldon Adelson, a Jewish Republican donor, sat in the front row as Mr Netanyahu praised the President for accepting that Israel’s capital was an “eternal, undivided” Jerusalem.
“A peace that is built on lies will crash on the rocks of Middle Eastern reality,” said the Israeli leader.

I see people have no idea what a war crime is or how they expect Israel to tackle a mass of people trying to invade the country, intent on murder and mayhem? Now I condemn any innocent people being killed, but I also blame Hamas for creating this problem in the first place, I just want to know how the IDF is meant to tackle a mass of people intent in causing and actually using harmful methods?

Present them with flowers by any chance?

I seriously would like people to explain how?

The loss of life is tragic in any situation, but not of those who are from terrorist organistions, which a number of the dead were. Or the fact that Hamas is using civillians as human shields for their activities

Indeed Nicko. They know Hamas is using civillians, to cover for their terrorist activities and this is going to lead to possible injuries of civillians. Everybody has a right to protect their homes, when under attack. As seen fences were attacked with bombs, fires set to them, with people trying to penetrate. Sadly the baby lost its life, of which it is unsure how the baby died. It was initially thought tear gas.

Hamas hides behind Palestinian children

That  Palestinian children were killed and injured in yesterday’s violence is both shocking and tragic. (AP quoted Hamas-affiliated Gaza health officials that six of the Palestinians killed by gunshots were minors.) That a baby is also among the dead, as a result of tear gas inhalation, is profoundly upsetting.

(UPDATE: A Gazan doctor told the Associated Press that the baby had a preexisting medical condition and that he did not believe her death was caused by tear gas.)

The media, however, failed to ask why Palestinian children were encouraged to attend an event that was inevitably going to end in violence and a risk to life.

For Hamas, the sacrifice of children is a bonus.

How Gaza Became Hell on Earth

This week marked the 70th anniversary of Israel’s independence and the Palestinians’ ‘Nakba,’ or catastrophe. But Monday’s bloodshed in Gaza sprang from more recent disasters.

KISSUFIM, Israel—From a hill outside this southern Israeli village, farmland stretches out below until it hits a small forest. Right beyond that is the Gaza Strip. Rising above the forest is a mountain, located near the Gazan city of Deir al-Balah. The clear blue of the Mediterranean Sea sneaks a peak just behind. Yet there are no mountains in Gaza; it is an almost wholly flat piece of coastal plain boxed in on all four sides by Israel, Egypt, and the Med. The mountain is a trash dump—white, brown, yellow and grey, with seagulls circling—that dominates everything else in central Gaza.

Bloody confrontations between Palestinian demonstrators and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on and around the border fence have claimed the lives of more than 100 Gazans over the last seven weeks, 60 just yesterday. That trash mountain explains a lot about how we got to the current moment: with thousands of Gazans willing to risk harm—if not death—in an attempt to breach the fence and infiltrate into Israel.

Gaza’s tragic descent into a place that the United Nations has deemed will be unlivable in just two year’s time began in 2005 with the removal of all Israeli settlers and soldiers from the coastal territory, occupied by Egypt until the 1967 war. The territory was handed over to the Palestinian Authority (PA) which was then, two years later, violently overthrown by Hamas. The Islamist group has ruled Gaza ever since with, as one former Palestinian official put it to me, “steel and fire.” As an internationally designated terror group, Hamas was faced with an old choice: they could recognize Israel, adhere to prior Israeli-Palestinian peace agreements, and renounce violence, or not. Predictably, they refused.

Yet even after the Hamas coup, most of Gaza’s border crossings were still operational, albeit on a limited basis. The initial curtailment came in 2006 after a Hamas cross-border raid that managed to kidnap an IDF sergeant. He was later swapped for over 1,000 Palestinian militants held in Israeli prisons. The real change occurred between 2008 and 2010, where many of the crossings were attacked by Gaza-based militants with mortars, truck bombs and, on one occasion, explosive-laden horses.

Israel responded with a blockade of the territory, leaving one main crossing open for goods, fuel and the like, and another crossing open for the movement of people. The Rafah crossing connecting Gaza with Egypt was itself only sporadically opened for people.

More to read on the link and quite balanced and from a left wing source.

Just like the Nazis they dehumanise the Civilian protestors No No

They published an enormous quantity of propaganda that blamed the Jews Palestinians  for the wrongdoings, mistakes, or faults that plagued “civilization;” and declared Jews Palestinians  and others untermenschen, or sub-human. Terrorists
These Nazi Zionist scapegoating tactics carried prejudice to the next step—from bigotry and bias to blaming. The Baha’i teachings warn us against blaming, faultfinding and backbiting:

But this was not the way of the Third Reich Zionist . Posters plastered in public juxtaposed handsome Aryans Jews next to portrayals of Jews Palestinians with sneering, seemingly evil countenances. One showed a Jew Palestinians as a horned-devil about to devour an innocent man.

Look at Didge's constant attempts to make our like the guys with rocks and bottle rockets are the Aggressors towards the guys with tanks and sniper rifles shooting kids

“Non-violent” protests?

For weeks, the Gaza border protests, despite evidence to the contrary, were framed as peaceful demonstrations in the image of icons such as Gandhi and Martin Luther King.
The reality as reported in the Washington Post was quite different:
But the protests appeared to have a more violent edge than in previous weeks. Some young men brought knives and fence cutters. At a gathering point east of Gaza City, organizers urged protesters over loudspeakers to burst through the fence, telling them Israeli soldiers were fleeing their positions, even as they were reinforcing them.
. . .
While some said they would abide by official calls to keep the demonstrations peaceful, others talked about their enthusiasm to break into Israel and wreak havoc.

“We are excited to storm and get inside,” said 23-year-old Mohammed Mansoura. When asked what he would do inside Israel, he said, “Whatever is possible, to kill, throw stones.”

Two other young men carried large knives and said they wanted to kill Jews on the other side of the fence.
. . .
The vast majority of demonstrators were unarmed, but near a parking area, a man pulled out an AK-47 and took aim at an Israeli drone dropping leaflets. He let off a stream of bullets into the air and brought it down. Later, more gunfire was heard as Palestinian factions argued over who would keep the downed drown [sic], onlookers said.

At least The Daily Telegraph‘s staff-ed recognized the reality of the situation Israel found itself forced into:
The loss of life is appalling, but Israeli soldiers found themselves trying to prevent thousands of demonstrators from breaking through the border, egged on by Hamas. Had they got through, there could have been even greater carnage.
Writing in the Daily Mail, columnist Mark Almond also recognized the threat that The Guardian failed to acknowledge:
But there are two crucial considerations to bear in mind about the Israeli response. First of all, one of the central themes of the radical Palestinian movement is to reclaim former homelands that are now Israeli territory. It is a drive called ‘The Great March of Return.’

But, by its very nature, this would threaten the very existence of the state of Israel. Therefore the security forces feel that, however savage the consequences, they cannot allow thousands of protesters in a human wave to cross the border and squat in Israel.

Second, although most of the demonstrators are unarmed, some definitely were. Hamas’s cynical eagerness to exploit the discontent means that there are bound to be hardened terrorists in the crowd, carrying knives, guns, petrol bombs or even rocket launchers.

That's true that why I posted this thread, since you post so fucking many it is mind numbingly boring from the Zionist perspective.

this is literally a pebble compared to the Avalanche of propaganda you post and you still can't stand it Rolling Eyes
So insecure about Your Propaganda Because you know what you post is just not true and only 'Repetition of the Lie' can make it hold weight in the public opinion.
https://qz.com/822907/science-suggests-that-frequently-repeating-a-lie-creates-the-illusion-of-truth/
It a basic Advertising tactic Wink
Like I Keep saying the Zionist have over played their hand, their tricks are outdated and the Sympathy goes to those deserving it today... and that's not the Evil Bastards firing Sniper rifles into Civilian crowds.

Egypt rebuked Hamas leaders over deaths in the Gaza border riots.

http://www.israelhayom.com/2018/05/16/egypt-rebukes-hamas-leader-over-deaths-in-gaza-border-%e2%80%8eriots/

Over at Gaza’s Kerem Shalom crossing, Hamas continued rejecting Israeli humanitarian aid transfers today:
Hamas accepted four trucks of aid supplied by the Palestinian Authority and two trucks supplied by UNICEF, but two further truckloads of medical aid provided by the IDF were turned away when the origin of the equipment became apparent.

In addition to 53 tons of medical equipment set to be transported into Gaza this week via the crossing, the increased Israeli aid included more than 14,000 units of intravenous infusions, 40 medical basins, 20 medical examination couches, 25 infusion stands, 85,000 disinfectant pads and 12,500 bandages . . .
The director of Gaza’s Shifa hospital’s emergency department, Ayman Al-Sahabani, told Reuters that medical supplies were running out.

Like I say, is a tragedy when any civillians loss of life due to the actions of the terrorist organisation Hamas in conflict with ID troops. Where clearly Hamas are placing civillians at risk, using them as human shields. I condemned any civillian killings and think Israel has to find some other way to tackle this problem. Any Hamas deaths, then full marks to the IDF, by being able to take out so many terorists.

To face tens of thousands of people, being orchestrated by terrorists. To cause maximum rioting and trying to storm into Israel. After it has suffered so many terrorist attacks in its history. Where only last year, was the knife intifade, is of course going to make IDF soldiers on egde and in some cases making very poor mistakes. Of which all should be investigated when it was civillians. Not if they are known terrorists.

Like I say, I am at a loss how Israel should tackle such massive riots, where they know lives could be at risk, if terrorists get through the borders.

Hope others have a view, as to what they think would be best way to tackle this situation, when civillians are being used as human shields by Hamas. In order to prevent the loss of civillian lives??
