Fox News

A former Oregon Christian school teacher was arrested after being accused of having an affair with a 15-year-old student that lasted for more than a year, authorities said Monday.

Andrea Nicole Baber, 29, was arrested at her home in Cottage Grove on Friday, the Register-Guard reported. The arrest came days after Baber’s husband allegedly walked in on her and the teen in bed, according to the News-Review.

The student’s father reported the relationship to police Dec. 12 after he and his wife received an anonymous email asking if they knew the boy and the Logos Christian Academy teacher were in a sexual relationship, authorities said.

The message was attached with photos of the teacher and the boy, according to the Register-Guard, citing an affidavit filed in Douglas County Circuit Court.

The teen told deputies that he and Baber had been in a relationship since 2017, when the boy was 15, according to the newspaper. Deputies said the teen provided him with alcohol and weed.

Baber was booked Friday at a Douglas County Jail on several charges, including sodomy, rape and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to the New York Post.

The sheriff’s office said Baber no longer works at Logos Christian Academy. Her profile was still featured Monday, but was taken down as of Tuesday.

“Andrea has always felt called to work with youth [in many different positions] and is very excited that God opened the door for her to be part of the Logos team,” her biography said, according to the Post. “She lives with her husband, dog and cat just south of Eugene.”

Apparently, God had help opening the door for her. No word on the safety of the dog and cat. Laughing

My cousin was engaged to a Mormon once, it caused a huge rift in the family because she appeared to be brainwashed by him, she almost disowned her own parents.
It didn't last and she married a soldier eventually. Smile

The Church is the law in the LDS community. They have chosen remote places such as the western slope of the Rockies, in order to preserve their autonomy.

Mormons are not Christians. They do not believe in the holy trinity. Yes they have a god, and a Jesus Christ, but the essential character of the Christian trinity is they all combine into one.

Mormons elect to believe that two of the trinity are real, distinct persons. In the Mormonism represented by most of Mormon communities (including The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints), "God" means Elohim (the Father), whereas "Godhead" means a council of three distinct gods; Elohim, Jehovah (the Son, or Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. The Father and Son have perfected, material bodies, while the Holy Spirit is a spirit and does not have a body.

This conception differs from the traditional Christian Trinity; in Mormonism, the three persons are considered to be physically separate beings, or personages, but only united in will and purpose. Of course, without the trinity, there is no redemption, no salvation, and the whole story goes to waste. Joseph Smith was probably not as aware of the theological gaps as the apostolic messengers.

Mormons are very insular. They keep to themselves, their communities, and take a somewhat supercilious attitude toward the rest of the world. (Of course, buried in there is a deep-seated insecurity, as well.) They strive for outward perfection, which is why they always seem to reflect clean faces, trimmed hair and perfect (conservative) dress. They appear to want to live that superciliousness. I don't know how they square that with bedding 13-year old girls, but that's where they are at. It's probably that insular distance they keep that gave your family the feeling she was being isolated, or as you put it, brainwashed. In order to preserve the insularity, they have to build walls.

Koresh was not a Mormon, but an offshoot of the Seventh Day Adventists.

The compound you speak of was in Eldorado, hundreds of miles from Waco. The State of Texas raided the place.

More false stereotypes. There are different kinds of Mormons. Some of the offshoots are like you describe. Mainstream Mormons are not. Just like mainstream Muslims, don't share the same beliefs as Wahhabis.

Got any support for that?  Can you at least quote the Book of Mormon, or the Quran?  Give us your explanation for these "offshoots"?

Most of my description is a lay summary.  I'm just talking about what one encounters in Utah and Arizona.  If you are going to label them false, at least give your reasons. Have you no substance for your claims?

Ignorance.  Rolling Eyes   Think racism is a "false stereotype"?  It doesn't exist, eh?  Think guns are a "false stereotype"?  Think warmongering is a "false stereotype"?  Think hatred of Hispanics is a "false stereotype"?  Do you love white Nationalism? I just draw the line around where these issues are the ideology, and I find I've just circumscribed the southern US.  You don't like the results; I'm just the messenger.

Now, I know it's not polite to say bad things about fellow Americans, their politics, their religion, etc...but that was all pre-Trump.  Now 'pussy-grabbing' is acceptable, blatant lying is a talent, and we all love soldiers, but not those who got captured.  Let's "normalize" this for a change: There are bad people in the US, and they all live in southern states.  If you don't like soldiers who got captured, how about a whole region (the South) that lost a civil war?  Talk about putting the wackos in charge of the institution.

It will be the downfall of the US.

Fortunately, those of us over here, got California as a lifeboat.  Ta-ta ...

It is what it is, mate.  Stereotyping is another word for generalizing.  Unfortunately, generalization is the name of the game.  Doctors generalize about diseases and the sick.  Lawyers generalize about laws and the accused.  Economists generalize about peoples' economic propensities.  Without stereotyping, there would be no understanding.

We learn about, look into and conclude in generalities or stereotypes.  Without them all you have are a collection of unsorted, and unexplained phenomena.

Sociologists and political scientists take apart the country by regions, and typically describe the ideologies found in each.  We have blue states and red states.  We have gun states and we have farm states.  Pretty soon we know enough about those regions to describe them by ideological personality.  And we can predict things.

It's no mere coincidence that the Charlottesville white-supremacists and Neo-Nazis marched, and killed, in a southern state.

Haha...and his case worker confirms it. Did you know that Richard Allen Davis, rapist and murderer of Polly Klaas at age 12, was routinely bedded by an aunt and her friend when he was aged 12? He thought it was normal. Rolling Eyes

Fred West, murderer and rapist of youngsters including his own children was also sexually abused by his mother.
Just shows all the sniggering about lads being up for it and grateful to the female predator no matter how old, is totally wrong.
It can have very long reaching effects, as much for lads as it does for girls who are raped and sexually abused.

Absolutely right. Just because it feels good, don't forget there are long-term consequences. BTW, heroin feels good when you start.

I was actually being ironic when I said rape is only acceptable if it happens to young horny lads Quill.

Being a mother of a son and a nan to two other lads, I would have felt the same if they had been taken advantage of by a predatory older woman when they were under the age of consent, as I would had I had daughters.

Its rape...pure and simple, and I believe the punishment for a woman raping a young lad (whether it seemingly affects him at the time or not) should be the same as an older man raping a girl under the age of consent.

A women sleeping with an underage boy makes her a paedophile, no less than if a man did the same to an underage girl.
