Now you're talking! Being a Yorkshireman I'll provide the cheese - you bring the port!

Deal!

I had a lovely port flavored cheese recently. Finished it off last night. It was incredible. Still have a bit left of a new one to me, called Mountain Goblin, triple cream Brie and a very aged Gouda.

I panicked when there is no cheese in the fridge.

My stepdad used to go on the moors outside of Leeds during summer break when younger, and stay on a farm. He would then jump on the delivery cart when they used to go out with the Wensleydale. I never had it till 1984 when he married mum and we moved over. MOUTH EXPLODING is how best to describe it. 3 years ago we went to the same moor to spread his ashes and ate a fantastic pub where I managed to have Wensleydale for all 3 courses. Amazing.

I can’t help it Lord M. I’m an equal opportunity cheese eater. I love them all.

If it was a choice between cheese or Mr. C...cheese wins every time lol!

Yes it was. We stayed at a beautiful farmhouse B&B. I had truly forgotten how beautiful it was up there. We also went to Nash’s in Leeds and had the biggest fish and chips ever. I was never a big fan but Beef dripping makes all the difference.

I know how you feel. After 8 1/2 years gone, I’m very homesick for the UK. We went out yesterday and both of us said we just missed a proper pub that had a Sunday Roast on.

Do you ever think if you were to write your life story....if you focussed on the bad things that have happened throughout life it would make a sad drama if televised.....if you focus on the happy events, how different that story would be.

I think most of us have highs and lows...if you focus on the lows you HAVE to do it with humour when you can, then life becomes...like Fred and you have said, a happy worthwhile experience.

I think many people may be shocked and somewhat harrassed in the head, if I wrote my life story.
It hasn't always been at all pretty.

Like Eds and Fred, I've been blessed. Had good and bad times, but I think they made me as I am today.

I have no regrets either because win or lose I made decisions and stood by them.

Its true....I think most people, even optimists would say they can remember an insult far more clearly than any compliment.

Same here Mags, and I truly do believe people who have suffered bad times really appreciate the good times when they come more than they may otherwise.

I love the way people have posted their own pics up in this thread.
It wasn't intended to go along those lines, but I think it shows how this forum is a trusted place for us.

I know anyone on the internet can see it if they so wish, but I doubt most of us think of that when we post....I know I don't.

Aww thank you Mags.
He was like Omar Sharrif, and last year we went to Lanzarote to a house where Omar bought (and lost in a card game) a busload of German tourists visited the day we did, they asked would he pose for pics in Omars house because they thought he looked very much like him as he got older.
OH refused...he hates anything like that, he gets embarrassed.

Okay don't know how some of thise photos got repeated twice and what I was doing in that last pic - some kind of sacrifice I think - but it was a great night. A fantastic memory.

Aw, I love these pics.   Your OH looks like  a cross between Omar Sharif and Engelbert Humperdink!

Here's me on my wedding day all those years ago.  1981.

You look beautiful. The dress would still look stunning today. I do think womens fashion has endured a lot better than male fashion in the last few decades.
