I thought I would win the lollypop for being the most organised Christmas shopper.
I am usually not interested in Christmas till December, but this year, due to a late holiday, I wont be here for the first two weeks of Dec, so to save myself a migraine and several panic attacks I started early.......and tonight, just to prove how very organised I am this year, I am even going to write some cards out.

Only November 6th and I'm already sick of the sight of Christmas advertising and the imminent start (next week) of Christmas-themed films.

One company is even justifying the fact that "it's Christmas..." (no it effin' well isn't!) to sell its range of wired brasieres!

What next? Christmas nappies? Christmas incontinent pants? Christmas bog paper that makes kids feel as clean as a squid?

Commercialism has all but destroyed the meaning and magic of Christmas, turning it into a months long orgy of pester-powered sales pitching. It's one thing to purchase cards early and book a Christmas Day table at Ye Olde Frogge & Nightgowne, but to go into Tescos and find shelves full of "Christmas party food" with a sell-by date at the end of next week or to have to suffer endless renditions of "Jingle Bells" and "We wish you a Merry Christmas" is bloody ridiculous.

It just seems to start so early, the shops and garden centres (especially) have been stocking Christmas items and even playing Christmas music since September....its overkill and just money grabbing imo.

I agree Sexy that actual Christmastime is a lovely time of year.

Working on the assumption that a ladies bust line needs that extra bit of pampering around the festive season.

There is already Christmas toilet paper and paper rolls being marketed....I bought some last year. What a Face

One of the many things that pisses me off about Christmas is that it starts in fucking November.   It shouldn't even cross our minds til December.  By the time Christmas day rolls around, I'm sick to the death of it.

I remember one year I walked into a shop and they started their display of Xmas things.

I had to do a double check. Outside it was hot and the month was June!

I like the parades on TV. We've usually opened all the presents and had breakfast. So it just passes time 'til the football games come on. Laughing

YES YES YES!!!!!!

Over here we still have a major Holiday, Thanksgiving, to get through. Even my local grocery stores is full of Xmas crap. I shudder and pass by. Even the local hardware store is playing Last Christmas and putting bows on toilet plungers and wrenches. For the love of all that is sane, WHY???????

When someone asked her why, she said "Because I can".....I wanted to smack her.

Do you mean a turducken? My mum wanted one 2 years ago. I said no as it was expensive so she bought it and cooked it and brought it over. It was average. Thank goodness I did a ham!

If the sheer greed of eating several birds stuffed into each other isn't enough to knock you sick, maybe the name turducken would do it.
When I see things like this for sale, and the tiny chickens (poussins) lined up ready to cook, it makes me think about turning back into a vegetarian again.

Send me your address. I'd like to package up a lovely ChristmasTinner and some Turdyduckshit as a special early birthday treat for you.

Re: The C word.

We sometimes lose sight of the fact that Yuletide is in week 52 - ie literally at the tail end of end the year. So I try to resist getting too excited too soon.

But I fully understand the commercial sector preparing early for it. Some retailers make more money in the Christmas period than they do in the rest of the year put together.

Haha I'm sitting here turning very green round the gills and you're making it worse, eddie. I didn't realise you had such a funny side.

Well on the positive side let's face it the dinner on the left looks like it's already pre-digested. The gut's digestive work has already been done for it!

I was joking. I hate seeing Christmas stuff too early. Kinda ruins it all for me.

Hahaha yeah I knew what you meant. I am so tempted to buy that dinner-shit-in-a-can and serve it up to someone, with a very straight face.

I'm sure I actually read an article about this where someone quite respectable ate it and said it was actually pretty good....

How sporting!! Suspect
I doubt if astronauts millions of miles out in space would accept that stuff. They'd probably prefer those weird food pellets. lol!

And what if you served that can-dinner upside down by mistake? You'd be eating your pudding first and that's just not classy. No
