Deregulation anyone?

As we have just finished with Hurricane Harvey, and are living through the largest storm in recorded history in Hurricane Treyvon's Revenge, and facing two new hurricanes bearing down in Jose and Katia...take a moment to think of all the building codes that regulate the buildings we are hunkering down in right now, the glass that keeps the wind and rain out, the rules governing chemicals, the zoning laws regarding placement of structures, the regulations regarding propane gas that keep us from harm, etc., etc. These are the rules that make us civilized, and Tories and Republicans think we can do without.

These are the things that Trump, the Republicans and Tories want to deregulate. George Lakeoff says we should not refer to them as regulations, but public protections. As we endure these weather systems, we see why. As these protections protect you, think of the Republicans and Tories that want to remove them, all so they can make a little more profit in their miserable lives.

When you think of the death toll at the end of these horrific storms, think of one word: DEREGULATION. Do we really want fewer public protections when we've seen what they do and why they are in place (??)...and for some other guy's profit, ffs!!
