What's with the British and queues? Try to get a Mexican to stand in a line...fookin' impossible! Evil or Very Mad

Hahahahahah we always queue and then refuse to moan when someone pushes in (well I do actually, as I detest impoliteness.)

so when you're in a shopping mall and you get those bods that zone in on you to change your gas supply or internet provider etc,,,do you quickly grab your phone and pretend to be deep in conversation?

I do that. If I let a driver out of a side steer etc and they don't say thanks I wind down the window and bellow "no no don't thank me!"

Queue's are so civilised though, its the only way to go.

I always speak out if someone jumps their turn.....typical Britishness denotes that no one ever backs me up though, even the ones who queue jumper has pushed in front of....they all find something else very interesting to detract them. Rolling Eyes

I totally agree...civilized.  And we anglicized Americans try to follow suit.  But it's a complete lost cause when a flock of Mexicans or southern and eastern Europeans are around.

Boarding a bus should be simple: a single line, each patiently waiting his/her turn.  But, nooooo...they all flock around the door and, opportunistically, jump aboard as space and elbows permit.  I'll tell you...obedience to the queue tells one a lot about national character.  You see why, now, that Russia is a nation of organized crime, led by the Capo de Comrade.

Its funny watching Brits abroad.
You can sense the rising tension at bus stops when a bus is due and lots of people want to get on it.
Most Brits (that I see) soon learn that its every man for themselves, in fact they can be worse than the natives.Laughing

Same with reserving sunbeds round the pool at the crack of dawn...many Brits are now worse than the Germans. Rolling Eyes

Back in our own country we immediately are programmed back into the queueing mentality.
