WikiLeaks 'a hostile intelligence service' says CIA director, Mike Pompeo

Post by Guest on Fri Apr 14, 2017 3:13 am

CIA Director Mike Pompeo denounced the anti-secrecy group WikiLeaks on Thursday as a "hostile intelligence service" and a threat to U.S. national security.

In his first public speech since becoming America's spy master, the former Republican congressman escalated the agency's hostility to WikiLeaks and its founder, Julian Assange, accusing them of making common cause with dictators.

While "Assange and his ilk" claim they act in the name of liberty and privacy, Mr Pompeo said that in reality, their mission is "personal self-aggrandisement through the destruction of Western values."

"WikiLeaks walks like a hostile intelligence service and talks like a hostile intelligence service," Mr Pompeo said.

The assessment of WikiLeaks was significantly different from Fake President Trump's.

Trump said before the election that he was happy to see WikiLeaks publish private, politically damaging emails from Hillary Clinton's campaign manager, John Podesta. The White House defended the president, saying there was a big difference between WikiLeaks publishing stolen, personal emails of a political figure and files about national security tools used by the CIA.

Yes, Pompeo's remarks impliedly condemned Trump in no uncertain terms. Republicans rely on the stupidity of the public to cover-up a lot of stuff.

The public was paying attention whey Republicans said they would repeal the ACA. Let's hope they hear this one, too.
