G'Day

SOUNDS a bit like Melbourne...

Where they can cop hot Northerlies blowing down off the deserts, and freezing wind and rain up off the Antarctic, within the one day..
'Four seasons in one day !'  could just as well be Melbourne's tourism motto, too.        sunny

Last December it rained in the morning, turned to snow, briefly, the sun came out for an hour, then we had Hail. That happened between 7am and 1m. Then it rained and we had a Thunder storm with Lightening and to finish it off on the night we had frost !!!

Yes and apart from the sun shining - which happens every day - that's basically winter weather! Texas has had huge temperature changes within a day.

Which brings me nicely to one of my favourite bands and lyricist.
The wonderful, Crowded House (surprised Veya didn't post this)

that's about Melbourne. I think you can replace where he says 'four seasons in one day' with 'Melbourne' and it still the same song

Sydney is a close to perfect as possible, Except for summer where it gets humid heat. but it never really get colds and is rarely not blue skies (rain is comes hard and fast in the evenings)
Perth is similar but the sun set over the ocean instead of rises. in Sydney you could survive naked in you kept in the shade in summer and out of the wind in winter.

Canberra (and Tarago by extension.) are the full 4 seasons on extreme. Hot dry summers, Freezing winters (one of the few areas it sometimes snows) Stormy Springs and drizzly autumns.

Adelaide is Mediterranean weather (best olives and Italian style wines, better than the originals by the distance Adelaide is for anything else .. a.k.a a fuck tonne)

Brisbane just a bit too hot but close to Sydney for blue skys.

Darwin.... you just melted in winter (it doesn't have winter it is monsoonal like Thailand etc just wet and dry season)

that's veya's description of state capital cities in Australia. Wink

Cool

Further to veya's comments :

The Hunter Valley (around 1.5 and 2.5 hours drive north of Sydney..) and Central Coast (0.5 to an hour out of Sydney..) regions are quite similar to Sydney weatherwise...

The main difference being that differing topographies produce different storm patterns..

As you travel up the coast and into Queensland, the winters grow warmer, and the summers wetter.

sunny
