Another one gone home.

Status Quo guitarist Rick Parfitt has died in hospital in Spain after suffering from a severe infection, his manager said today.
The 68-year-old had been recuperating at his Mediterranean home since June, after he suffered a heart attack.
The veteran musician was taken into hospital in Marbella on Thursday evening due to complications with a pre-existing shoulder injury.
He died there at lunchtime on Saturday, his manager and family said in a statement.

he hammered the drink and drugs though. You can't do that and get away with it. If you do, you're lucky.

True...he also had a triple heart bypass 20 years ago, so his health was never that good.

So many people in their 60's have died this year.....and they keep telling us 60 is the new 40. Shocked

RIP Rick. You and the band are legends and who could forget that moment in London in 1985 when the band kicked off Live Aid with 'Rockin' all iver the World.

A very sad loss.

Can't say I liked their music at all, but he was a character and I bet his fellow Status Quo singer will be gutted.

Too many people this year.

Sad news... too young...!

His management have said that as a special tribute to him, when they lower his coffin down into the ground, they're not going to use the normal ropes... instead they are going to use 3 cords (chords)...!

Laughing

Is it too soon...!?

But while we're talking about the passing of well known musicians/song writers...

The man who wrote 'the okey-cokey' died a couple of weeks ago... but no mention in the media...

Even though there was trouble at the funeral...

What trouble?

Trying to get him in to the coffin...

Why's that?

Well... they put the left leg in... the left leg out... in out in out and shake it all about...

lol!

To be fair, most of their songs sounded the same.

Rick Parfitt RIP 2696538800

WHEN I went through school, and onto uni', the main musical influences on me and those friends that I hung out with were the Beatles and Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and Status Quo, Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen...

So that the main Status Quo that I liked and relate to, was their iconic 'soft rock' from the 1970s..

From the late '70's onwards, I felt their music became more pop/less rock, more mainstream and formulaic.

RIP  Rick  Parfitt..         Rick Parfitt RIP 3852033631

No I actually hate that type of music. But I can see why people liked them if that makes sense.
