There was a poem (or prose) about a stag and a fawn who look across a meadow at each other.  They each have thoughts: the fawn thinks of how much he could learn from the stag; the stag thinks of how great it would be to be young again.  But alas, they each go on their way and never greet each other.

Does anyone know this poem/prose? As i recall, it was called something like, Across the Meadow, or something like that.

Yes, it was quite moving. Left you with a real sense of loss, for not having taken a risk.

Thanks for looking. I look too and couldn't find it. I think it might have been a Disney thing. Again, thanks... Laughing

Nicko, you could always adopt an older pet. You might have to go through the heartache of seeing him or her die, but you'd be giving that animal a little happiness before it dies, and you could be proud of that. It would be a lot better for that pet than dying in "the system" so to speak Smile

Ben, don't want the heart ache of seeing another pet die, I have an old cat and it's a toss up who goes first. I would like a dog, but having thought about it I feel too ill to take on another Animal whatever it's age.
