Terrorists back on streets

Post by Lord Foul on Mon Oct 31, 2016 2:29 pm

The vast majority of convicted terrorists jailed over the past 15 years are now back on Britain's streets, a Sky News investigation has discovered.

Around three-quarters of the 583 people imprisoned on terror charges in the years since the 9/11 attacks have now served their sentences and been released from UK prisons, many still holding the same extremist beliefs that got them jailed in the first place.

Sky News has been told that around two-thirds of those released refused to engage with prison deradicalisation programmes aimed at addressing their extremist behaviour.

much as I dislike the DP....perhaps its time we considered it once more for these types...

or, at least , whole of life with no parole....

Oh and THAT is only true in light of "current sentencing guidelines".

my point is that these should be changed
to either the DP OR whole of life with no parole

The severity of legal sanctions depend on the severity of the crime - if our elected government think there is need to do more then they will act upon it.

then you have a warped sense of justice....

or like being an unthinking drone

from the article

"Among those released in recent years are three men who helped the four London suicide bombers plan the 7/7 attacks in 2005."

which means they have likely served what ....10 years max? for THAT....

thats not justice thats a "penal code sanction"

ludicrous.....

I would support the death penalty for the most heinous of crimes if we ever had a vote on it (which we probably wont)

so do I.....and when the law is inadequate i will call for it to be strengthened/changed....

the fact is the law in this case is inadequate to the task.....

To head off UKIP and the RW of his party - he never imagined for a moment that the vote would go against him - hence no government in the foreseeable future will offer referenda so readily.

The Tories have had 7 years to strengthen the law.
They chose instead to concentrate on tax cuts and 11% pay rises for themselves.
What do you do with a British terrorist who has served his time. Deport him? Where? So he can continue with  his terrorism.Hang him? Before or after his prison term?
That would make us no better than the Phillipines, Sad Hussain or the other mad despots,

yeah yeah...we all know you are a terrorist facilitator HA...

you would release em to kill time and time again....

you asked " Deport him? Where? So he can continue with his terrorism" and yet you would have him loose here to continue his terrorism

OK...dont hang him... take the other option I offered...whole of life with NO chance of parole.

Talk like that proves you are unfit to be a moderator Foul.
You have no clue about what to do with them. Potential Terrorist arrested with prohibited material. Bang him up for 70  years. That will work, wont it?
Fuck me sideways. You are more stupid than your posts demonstrate.
Just hang anyone with dark skin and goes into a mosque. That seems to be your solution.
Anyway, I am off to watch the test card on tv, far more stimulating than talking to you.
Night.

Re: Terrorists back on streets

Post by Lord Foul on Mon Oct 31, 2016 3:39 pm

and you are a twisted liar
first
I made NO comment on the origins of the terrorists whatsoever.....so dont imply I did you only look a bigger cretin (if that were possible) for doing so

second
I post as a poster not a mod...you will know soon enough if I choose to post as a mod (usually cos its in red)

third
do you actually know ANYTHING about law and how its derived....do you actually understand the priciople of proportionality
you say "Potential Terrorist arrested with prohibited material. Bang him up for 70 years. That will work, wont it? "

well if he is known to have terrorist links, or can be shown to have researched terrorist material then yes....bang him up...why not
if hes been shown to have had an active part in a terrorist action, especially one that has done its job, even if he wasnt the person carrying/fireing the bomb then yes bang him up (joint enterprise)

what YOU think is right ...letting them out to repeat their actions (as the article certainly suggests) is madness
will banging him up for 70 years work.....well it may not improve his ideas much....but it WILL keep him safely out of the way as will stretching his neck
BTW....who says we HAVE to be better than...............

and just for once

whats YOUR solution then???
OH thats right you dont have one, nor do you care .....until of course one of YOURS gets blown to smithereens....wonder if we would see a change of attitude then ...or does your tough suck it up attitude extend to you and your own as well???
