Nice!

Sounds like someone dumped a sofa on the cheap and at cost to council/taxpayer to clean up... but lost some money while doing the crime...

Instant karma!!!

I have found other amounts over the years

A wad found with a three piece suit? If the suit was a cashmere blend, it's drug money for sure.

Were there any cops nearby?

Quill, a three piece suite, notice the 'e' , is a sofa and armchairs etc - not a suit that you wear.

Razz Well Major, that's what you get for continually mutilating the language. No one knows what you mean, and if you really mean it.

BTW, was it an Italian Renaissance sofa? Wink

Instant karma!!!
The money has the smell of drugs all over it ... literally! In fact sniffer dogs would make a beeline for it.
I'd imagine spending drugs or crime-generated money has a karma of its own too, TM.
There's also an outside chance of it being counterfeit - might lead to awkward situations

If it's a small amount I'd keep it, but if it's a big, fat wodge of notes, I'd hand it in - the old bill rewards people who hand in lost property.

In our area the Police no longer deal with lost property, cut backs I would guess

You may get a cash reward for your honesty,  from the old bill. Or from the grateful owner of the lost property.
