Just saw you'd already made a thread about Boris.
Going to go and demean him over there too.

Re: hammond made chancellor

I'm not saying I'm a particular fan of George Osborne... but I he has been in a very difficult job since 2010 when labour left the mess they did... and with govt borrowing being £180 billion a year and rising... as labour left govt with spending commitments of £180billion a year more than was coming in in taxes...

He has tried hard and has had a great deal of success in many areas of the public finances and the economy... and has been successful in reducing the annual level of govt borrowing to the much lower level that it is at now...

Although of course he has not single handedly done any of this... as all chancellors will have a large number of experts and advisors behind them to help and guide them etc...

And a new Chancellor will still be following the same overall 2015 election manifesto/aims/policies... with pretty much the same experts/advisors behind them... and will not be able to change anything that is currently in motion from decisions already taken... and then will be doing much the same as Osborne would have done in the upcoming near future decisions etc...

So the question is... what exactly is it that Osborne has done that is so bad...?

And what makes you think any other person as Chancellor wouldn't have done the same or won't do much the same in the near future...?
