Jo Cox death: Suspect linked to far-right group that has campaigned against the EU

Post by sassy on Fri Jun 17, 2016 1:16 pm

First topic message reminder :

The link between Thomas Mair and the Springbok Club goes back ten years

The man arrested over the killing of Labour MP Jo Cox is believed to have had long-term links with a hard-right group based in London which had been campaigning for many years for Britain to leave the European Union.

Thomas Mair was named as a supporter in an online publication of the Springbok Club, an organisation which has defended the white supremacist apartheid regime in South Africa.

Witnesses to the fatal attack on Ms Cox say they heard Mair shout “Britain First” as the MP was shot and then stabbed. The organisation Britain First, which was founded by former members of the British National Party, has denied that Mair was associated with it and say they condemn the killing.
The link between Mair and the Springbok Club goes back ten years when its online magazine, the Springbok Cyber Newsletter, was inquiring about the whereabouts of “Thomas Mair, from Batley in Yorkshire [who] was one of the earliest subscribers and supporters of “S.A. Patriot” who has moved from his address in the Fieldhead Estate district of the town.”

The leading article for June 2016 Springbok Cyber Newsletter, which describes itself on its website as being pro-free market capitalism and patriotism and anti-political correctness, was, however, devoted to Britain and the referendum. It started: “On Thursday, 23rd June 2016 all British voters will have the opportunity to vote on the future of their country. They can vote either to remain entrapped in the artificial and retrograde European Union, or to regain their sovereign independence....”

The article ends by declaring: “But we should not only be concentrating at the negative aspects of remaining in the EU. Our campaign should be primarily positive and optimistic for a future outside the EU. The motto of the Patriotic Forum (an umbrella grouping of patriotic organisations which the Springbok Club is part of) is “Out of Europe and into the World”. There is a golden future waiting for Britain out there once the country returns to its traditional vision of looking towards the Open Seas and its ethnic brothers and sisters in the Commonwealth around the globe. The days ahead will inspire us!”

And that is just the beginning, there is so much more coming out about him.

What has this got to do with the eu referendum...?

And you claim your point is 'the far right' are trying to distance themselves etc...?

How does that wild claim have any relevance here!?

You do know that jo cox voted for the eu referendum don't you...?

And do you know what 'volkswagen' translates into English as...?

It translates as "People's Automobile"!!!

You certainly did not find state ownership of the forces of production in Hitler's Germany.  Krupps, Bayer, Siemens, and many more were not public.  Those remained in private hands (including foreign corporations like Ford, GM, and IBM).

Tommy Monk wrote:Wrong again! It is our lefties here who are obsessed with pursuit of ever increasing big state and big state control... which is why they love the eu fascist dictatorship so much... and all the ever increasing power grabbing and control and rules and regulations it does!

You fall for the same old optical illusion of capitalism…the theory of the 18th-century shopkeeper depicted in Adam Smith’s, Wealth of Nations.

What socialists pursue is state control of the forces of production.  You are slipping in a substitute: absolute totalitarianism.  Control of production is a leftist socialist economic theory.  Absolute totalitarianism is the final state of capitalism,  a plutocracy, or privileged elite.
Idea

During WWII,  Volkswagen was actually largely "owned" by its chairman Ferdinand Porsche and family and friends -- he spent ten years in prison from 1945/'46, for "collaborating with the Nazi party..".
Family money, and business connections, were then used to rebuild and expand the Porsche moter company in the 1950s..
The Porsche family is still one of the bigger shareholders in Volkswagen these days, as well.

Hitler's brand of "state sponsored socialism" was to use public monies to support and bolster privately held corporations, where the major shareholders were favoured individuals and families, with such familiar names as the likes of Porsche, Krupps, Messerschmidt, Fuchs, Siemans, Bayer, Bosch, et al..     Arrow

Morning  Raggs, just of to bed after a night shift, I used that as an example of what the extreme far right are thinking  and saying about the murder.
I suspect the mods here wouldn't  tolerate such language  fortunately, but it would be a grave mistake to sweep such opinions under the carpet as if they do not exist.
The radical, e xtreme far right movement is scarily on the rise across Britain and Europe.
Who knows where it will end, but The UK will definitely be  a place to avoid if the far right got into a position of  power here..
As an aside,is quoting the opinion from another forum any less wrong than quoting the opinion from a tabloid editor.  Many take it as the  gospel truth , but most editors write what the owners, particularly Murdoch , t ella them to write.

Thomas Mair, accused of murdering MP, gives name to court as 'death to traitors, freedom for Britain'

Thomas Mair tells Westminster Magistrates' Court: 'My name is Death to traitors, freedom for Britain'

The man charged with murdering the Jo Cox has given his name to magistrates as “death to traitors, freedom for Britain.”
Asked to give his name as he stood in the dock at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London, Thomas Mair replied: "My name is death to traitors, freedom for Britain."
The 52-year-old refused to give his correct name to the court and remained silent when asked his address and date of birth.
Mrs Cox, 41, died after being shot and stabbed in the street outside her constituency surgery in Birstall, near Leeds, on Thursday.

Mair, of Birstall, is charged with murder, grievous bodily harm, possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence and possession of an offensive weapon.

After being taken to the court in a prison van, Mair was led from the basement cells for a short preliminary court appearance, presided over by Deputy Chief Magistrate Emma Arbuthnot.  He appeared in the dock wearing a grey jumper, tracksuit bottoms and black shoes,
Mair was not required to enter a plea and his lawye, Keith Allen, said there was no indication of what plea would be given. He also told the court that legal aid has been applied for.
Ms Arbuthnot ordered that he be remanded in custody until his next appearance, at the Old Bailey on Monday.
He will be held at Belmarsh Prison, and Ms Arbuthnot suggested that a psychiatric report should be prepared, saying: "Bearing in mind the name he has just given, he ought to be seen by a psychiatrist."

That's not what I said. Tommy Mair has stated a clear political position in view of many witnesses that is directly related to the assassination of Jo Cox. That he killed her because of his political disagreement with her can no longer be denied.

Of course it will be used to tar the leave campaign. Just as if the roles were reversed, the stay campaign would use it.

Nobody's going to bring the kid back.  No sense in a bunch of hens clucking and pecking the ground.  Less stupidity in Harris County...the insult is to a bunch of rednecks.

Look at his right arm in the middle area where elbow should be...

It's all wrong!

And the badge on jacket is different focus to rest of pic... plus there is a distinctive funny circle round it...

And the face looks like it is stuck on a larger man's neck...

Did Mair do any paid work? He spent £430 on US imported books on how to build a handgun.

You need your eyes testing...

The raised arm in pic... half way down on the outer side... there is a lighter pink circular bit that looks more like an open wound than an elbow!!!

The shape and perspective is off key too!

Plus the badge on jacket is blurred when zip teeth next to it are clearer in focus... and there is a clear dotted black line going round the outside of badge...

If you can't see what I'm saying then you need to enlarge the areas of pic and have a closer look!!!

Maybe others will see what I'm talking about...!?

You need to google it

I can see what you're saying but I couldn't say for sure what's caused it? Could be a printing type error, or a crease or mark on the picture,?

It needs a professional to look at it to say why.

Don't know what he did eddie... only that it has been reported that he was long term unemployed and had mental health issues... reportedly he did the odd bit of gardening for elderly neighbours... was a quiet and private type of person... kept himself to himself type of person... but always friendly and polite to other locals... always said 'hello/good morning' etc... family have been reported saying that he wasnt interested in politics and he never spoke to them about political issues...

The magazines/publications he allegedly bought from that US organisation were said to be between 1999-2004...

There is much talk about one in particular being about how to build a gun... nothing about the others... but I doubt very much that he subscribed to 4 years of mags just for that particular one... the others were likely to be general outdoor camping/survival stuff I reckon... if he just wanted a gun back in 1999-2003 then he could have probably bought one with the money he instead used on the subscription mags...

There are also reports that he was arguing with someone else when jo cox arrived... and she started to get involved in trying to break up the dispute when she was attacked.

Post by HoratioTarr on Sun Jun 19, 2016 2:36 am

OK, I'm going to upset the applecart here and say that that photo does look tampered with.   How do I know?   Because I work as a digital artist and I know my photoshop.

First...here is an example of my work, so that you know I know what I'm talking about.

This piece was just a simple graveyard shot, I added the girls, the mist, the water lilies, the water and the blackbird and the chains on the girl's wrist.

Let's take a look at the shots below.

Note the line and fold of the logo on the teeshirt.  See the very large pixels around England that I've arrowed.   This is a dead giveaway of copying  the original image is copied and pasted and so the pixels do not match the pixels on the original cloth on the rest of the tee shirt.  You can see how ragged that circled portion of tee shirt is where the letter N of England is just poking out.  This means whoever did this has not taken the trouble to clean it up and match it up properly with the fold of the tee shirt.

Here I've circled a portion of light anomaly or light ghosting at this part of his arm.   You'll also see pale ghosting around almost all the edge of this man's image where it's dark.   Whoever did this, hasn't used the erase tool to take out the pale pixels that have been carried over from the original background.   It's my guess, this whole image has been cut out and pasted onto the background you see here.

You'll see on this shot, that where his elbow meets his teeshirt, the arm looks as though it is actually outside the teeshirt sleeve.  This is because whoever did this, has not cut around the image properly and what you're seeing is part of the darker background where this image originally was.  You'll also see the darker shading on the inside of his forearm where the darker original background has affected the light.  On the outer edge of his forearm, arrowed, you'll see how blurred it is.   This happens in clumsy cut and paste and the blur tool has been used to try and blend this in.

You'll see here that the line of the neck of the tee shirt is blurred and not in line with the rest of it.    The blue blur on the arrowed part of his neck is where the refine edge tool has taken out slightly more of the image and left it with less opacity therefore, the blue background is showing into his neck.

This last one I've arrowed the damaged pixels and blurring.   The whole hand looks out of synch with the arm, and the bottom of the hand has a dark line that doesn't match the rest.  Also, his right cheekbone has been lightened using the dodge tool as you can see how overly bright it looks and the large blocking.

There's more, but I won't bore you with it.

I think it's been tampered with.   I'm not sure about his arm,  but the elbow does seem oddly placed but the points I've highlighted stand for me.

Thanks HT... look at his raised Nazi salute arm... look at the light pink circular bit half way down on the outer edge... that is not an elbow... it looks more like (dare i say it...) a shaven lady part!!!

The whole arm/shape/position/perspective is way out...

And what do you think about badge on jacket?

Tommy, I have worked out and lifted weights in a gym all my life.  He has fat on his triceps.  His extended arm makes the dimple of his elbow disappear beneath the fleshy part of his upper arm (triceps). If he did more triceps extensions, he could firm up the arm and it would look more natural.

Sooooo everyone is just going to dismiss HT's post and Veya's (saying that he cannot find another online pic of it - which of course can be disputed if we find another)

So back to HT; she says she can see it's been tampered with.
Why would that be?

I have no idea. What I've posted is just my observation on that particular image. If it's been manipulated and the jpeg is renamed then there won't be a similar image out there for the reverse image finder to find. That's perhaps why they took out the background, as if you change that, then it won't be the same as the original shot. I dunno. It's just my take on it.

Just to say I did a reverse image search myself before I started this. All that came up that was similar was the logo on his tee shirt.
