The difference between Americans and British

Post by *THE Ben Reilly* on Thu May 19, 2016 10:55 pm

First topic message reminder :

"Did you know Americans drive on the right and British on the left?"

American: Wow, don't know if I could get used to that.

British: Bloody fools driving on the wrong side of the road ...

"Did you know British have tea time but Americans don't?"

American: Sounds like a charming custom!

British: Bloody savages ...

"Did you know that British put a letter 'U' into words like 'honor,' while Americans don't?"

American: Well, you can still understand what they're saying ...

British: Bloody Yanks need to bloody learn how to bloody spell properly!!!

"Did you know that when Americans and British refer to 'football,' they're usually talking about completely different sports?"

American: Meh. Who cares?

British: Handegg (also known as Gridiron Football, or Rugby With Pads), is a homosexual pastime enjoyed mostly by Americunts because of cultural obligation for having stolen it from the mutually hated British. Since Americunts are fat (thus needing a break every 5 seconds), stupid (need to be told what to do every play), and generally unskilled, Handegg was tailored for them. With its use of tights, helmets, body armor, under eye make up, fanny pack, and the QB Snap routine (where the team's captain mounts his man's asshole every down) it is the primary recruiting technique for young new faggots and Army members as it is a required part of most young men's high school education. The objective of the game is to protect your team's egg so it doesn't get cracked and get it back to the nest. To Americunts, the game the rest of the world calls "football" is to them called "soccer". This makes no sense, as soccer is clearly played with feet, and yet their bastardization of a real man's sport like Rugby seems to involve little-to-no kicking whatsoever. This particular misnomer only serves to further the entirely accurate allegation that the average Americunt IQ is even smaller than Asia's entire average penis size.

Oh, when did I say I missed them?

Well if you didn't miss them, you're clearly being disingenuous.

In what way?

Stormee is current and specifically said he believes this twice.

Veya, myself and other non-British members have heard all kinds of shit about our countries. I remember Vic once told me I don't have a culture.

But criticize Britain in any way and everybody gets so sensitive about it. Which was the whole point of the OP, by the way. SOME British people seem to be deeply offended that Americans don't copy their culture.

Did stormee really say it should be illegal and a criminal offence and punishable in law?

I don't remember that... but even if he did... that would be just one Brit poster on here... and your other 2 claims have not been said by any Brits on here...

So where does that leave your earlier claim!?

And as to your latest claim above...

I think you are getting things the wrong way round... we are critical of our own country for the shit that our labour govt did and that our tory govt are continuing to do... we have had loads of shit thrown at us from veya and yourself about how backwards we are and how great we all think we are and how we are all guilty of fucking everything up for everyone else in the world etc...

We have argued for getting out of the EU and regaining control over our democracy, our country, our laws and our borders... and you lot have called us racists and bigots etc... although we are arguing for our right to have the controls over our country that you have over yours and that you wouldn't dream of giving away yourselves but want to tell us WE shouldn't/can't have!!!

There is an old saying here... people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones...

One of the reasons for getting out of eu is to regain control over our borders and stop mass immigration... as well as to be much more able to deport foreign criminals...

We have been called 'racists/bigots/xenaphobes' many times for daring to complain about immigration numbers...

this is an international site so British Propaganda doesn't just get accepted, as it is NOT what people out side of Britain are taught as history.

Not accepting the bullshit you guys put out about how great you are while simultaneous whinging that everything is broken in your island IS not being Anti British it's is being anti hypocrites.

Ironically as much as Americans are Stereotyped for being overly patriotic and mindless believing their own propaganda the Brits, on this site at least, are much worse for it.

Cause that is Xenophobic Plus just whinging. Plus dumb.

there are valid reasons to want to renegotiate, but when you say immigration combined with other opinions you have expressed it is apparent that it is emotional 'fear of others' driven response.

Leaving and thinking it will go back to like before is just daydreams, the world has already changed.

So by the above its racist by singling out British as not being accepted

Thanks for the honesty

You are the most racist on this site and have wished many British people dead, which if this had been other posters, they would have been banned.

Ben seems to like idiots though, but you are without a shadow of a doubt the most hateful and racist out of all posters on here

VEYA the most racist person on this site ?!?

WHAT A LOAD of rubbish...

TOMMY, Stormee, Syl and Horatio have proved themselves, time and time again over recent weeks, to be the most racist, xenophobic and nationalistic twats among the regular posters on here !

I simply don't recall any British poster on here sitting here saying how great the UK is. In fact, there are a lot of posts from Brits criticising the Government, the benefits system, the police, the weather, etc. I do know that when you start on one of your many rants, which include telling me that I'm evil simply for being British/English, some of us defend it, and why shouldn't we? We live here, it's our home, and whilst it's not perfect, it's what we know and it's our world. You're the one who sits there telling us how marvellous Australia is every five minutes.

You don't just offer constructive criticism, you have a real hatred of Britain and the English in particular, and that makes you a bigoted racist.

Well that's just patronising. Feel free to point out why you think we would be better off in the EU, but don't patronise those who don't agree - you wouldn't want to come across as an arrogant yank would you?

Really I have no problem living among Brits Rolling Eyes I support taking more refugees even if they are British... Twisted Evil
I just wouldn't want to live in Britain since there isn't enough other races to balance them out, it like most of England is an English Ghetto, like Sutherland Shire here tongue tongue tongue tongue Although maybe where ever Tommy lives Suspect According to him it's teaming with foreigners, so a chance there will be some decent food pirat

the reason there is Racism in Britain Cause you worry to much about being offended and not enough about Doing shit to build a strong society. The most sane Brit on here lives in Thailand and has been told he should not be allowed to vote by the 'Most British' posters Defending the island (I swear i can't help but think of Stormee as some Celt tossing rocks at Romans every time he says it Laughing Laughing Laughing ).... like you guys still haven't got their head around dual citizenship. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Come on.. and You had the hide to call South America backwards Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

This applies To everything since globalization. You forget you're nation is not the top of the heap anymore, You still act like knowing Britain will be enough to get by in the future. We knew we weren't top the heap So adapted early the the new Globalized world and the dividends are now paying off. I don't care about being "top of the heap". I care about what happens in my world, and to the people in it. I don't care about the things you care about - being "top dog" and all that garbage. I'm interested in what happens elsewhere - in politics, world events, and that kind of thing, but I'm not living in those places so all I can do is discuss them with like-minded people.

Even you can only live in one place at a time, so what makes you think that you're more "wordly" than me? You want to live in the sticks where you're hardly going to be mixing with people from different cultures, so what makes you think you're better than me?

This is the crux of it really. You think you're better than Brits, particularly the English, and you've been unable to explain why, so you bluster and you get abusive about it.

Yet more leftist regressive nonsense.
Not worried about people giving offense, espcially from someone as racist as you are against the Brits to the point you have stated to butcher many of them.
Racism is not much of an issue in the Uk
Eilzel should be allowed to vote, as he is a British citizen, he has not moved permenantly anywhere.
I really am not concerned as to what you think of people, what is more important is that you stop defending bad beliefs

I don't sit here thinking any country is better than any other country.
I've never sat here and thought I was better than someone who comes from Australia or America or India or Africa.
I don't sit here and wish my country was "all White" or "all British"
I don't sit here and think about my country in terms of being top dog or "top of the heap" (does anybody??)

Perhaps this is all just banter, but to me, it sounds like constant one-up-man-ship.

No they are not racists and xenophobes, and this is what is wrong with the left they have not got a clue what racism or xenophobia is.
Instead you just shout "racism" at people.
I read those threads and that is not being racist at all.
Let me help you.
Racism is a view that views another race as inferior. (Which without such racial classifications, racism could not exist, as it would have no bases on differences to argue you off)
Xenophobia is having a dislike to a group of people, ie Muslims.
Veya is the most racist there is against the British and has even called for them to be killed.
No group is a race biologically but they are as a social construct.
Are you telling me now you cannot be racist towards the Irish?
The Welsh?
He is racist towards the English and British and is on a par with Stormee, smelly and Tommy

Bitchy, bitchy, bitchy...for the Brits, nothing is quite British enuff. You don't like French, nor Dutch, nor Italian, an' the Germans are downright evil...tho your royalty is German sure enuff. There is a well-nested inferiority complex in there somewhere.

It may interest you to know that there was a national movement to de-Britishize spelling in America in the late 19th-century. Theodore Roosevelt was active in the movement. Plain and simply, like PC'ness, the Americans thought British spelling was pretentious and superfluous. So 'colour' became 'color' and 'labour' became simply, 'labor'. Sad-to-say, we couldn't get 'ought' to become 'aut' and 'enough' to become 'enuf'. But we tried. Razz

Cause it's small world thinking the sort that Aboriginals etc had THEN the big bag world of reality came and fucked them up didn't it? SO since so many of you are sitting there with the small world hill shepherd mentality And the world is moving much faster than the majority of Brits on here realize.. what do you think is the likely outcome when reality comes around to you guys?

This applies To everything since globalization. You forget you're nation is not the top of the heap anymore, You still act like knowing Britain will be enough to get by in the future. We knew we weren't top the heap So adapted early the the new Globalized world and the dividends are now paying off. You guys still haven't figured out the EU Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I don't care about being "top of the heap". I care about what happens in my world, and to the people in it. I don't care about the things you care about - being "top dog" and all that garbage.

Then Stop expecting to allowed to act like your top of the heap! YES if you are not near the top Other nation can tell and force you to make laws you don't like despite democracy. Accept that opting out of the EU is not an option for you unless you completely transform your economy, You lot want your cake and to eat it to but not willing to do anything to get the bloody cake in the first place. And AS pointed out how many times just to get accused of being anti British YOU Took everything from others else and NOW others are looking to take it from you and we are which is why you are no longer as rich as you where and we are going to keep on taking it. And Actually that is great example; Aussie cant afford a house near his work in one city, buys one 230 km away based on potential for economic gain expecting the city 250km away to grow by 20-30 km in the foreseeable future. Faced a problem, try and work out a way around it look far and wide, I literally looked at properties in South Australia over 2000km away in considering options, expecting things in the future to change. Needed new Plumbing fittings for a house out in the sticks, Deal with and order directly from Manufacturer in China to get best price. So maybe there was a reason down here we are taught to act local but think global even fixing up a house in the sticks i am dealing with oversea suppliers and it's not even a big job.

And I think we have just shown why... as i said too many insular hill shepherd in Europe that are ignorant of how far the rest of the world has come. how integrated and interrelated we are, and how just to stay a float, let alone be successful, you need to look beyond your small pond. Not at all. Spelling of English wasn't standardized until 1855, when Samuel Johnson wrote his first A Dictionary of the English Language.

Beyond that, the reason why American spelling and British spelling are different is, in the late-1800's organized associations in America were created to "reform" the spelling of the English language.

I've never acted like I expected to be top of the heap. I've very well aware of the risks of leaving the EU thank you, which is why I haven't made up my mind yet. In fact, I've consistently said that the vote will be to stay with a close to 65% majority. Look, the majority of people I've spoken to just feel that the UK is being told what to do by the EU and they haven't got any further than that. They don't feel European, they feel British, and they want to stay feeling that way. Whatever the outcome of the referendum, we will live with it and sort out the consequences, good or bad. It's not something you need to worry about because you're not here and you're not British.

Do you think you've cornered the market in adapting? I don't think that moving to the sticks means you're thinking "globally", you just have a larger country to choose which sticks you want to live in. Plenty of people do a similar thing here, we're just more limited because the UK is more crowded generally.

Umm Raggs There is only a chance I'll ever move there full time Wink to do so I may well have to start my own business.

And No We haven't cornered the market on adapting, that is sort of the point lots have nations have already adapted to the new economy. and the EU is proving to be the slowest economic group to adapt. Like the fact you don't consider buying in Poland, Warsaw is as close as Adelaide. the point of the EU is to be a federation of states with a unified economy so you can. The problem is not the idea it is the people trying to implement it, as several federations of states exist.

P.S. it is bit of a general 'you' as in British and other old powers in Europe.

I think that a lot of Brits are OK with the idea of a unified economy as long as it's rather a loose one. The people who want to vote to come out of the EU just have this idea that they don't want to be part of a "super Europe" and they don't want to lose their British identity. They'd probably be hard pushed to explain what a British identity consists of, it's just something they feel - possibly because we are separated from most of Europe by a stretch of water. The trouble is that there's no middle ground in this referendum, it's one way or the other, so people will be voting in the dark a bit. Those who want to stay in will probably do so because they're afraid to leave, and those who vote to come out will be taking a leap of faith.

Although I will give you the fact that the leaders of Europe are shit, and it is fair enough that many people don't have faith in them. But it needs to be done and nothing is set in stone, you changed to it, then you can change it again geek
