Post by Cass on Tue Mar 01, 2016 12:23 am

Challenge won...by me...again

Even though I threw last nights game. I was too busy watching the Oscars and stuffing my face with chocolate lava cake. Which was fanbloodytastic and homemade by the way.

Now crown me and give me my own special title dammit.

Quiz Queen of the Universe will do for now.

Ta muchly.

I'm off to quaff shiteloads of prosecco now in celebration.

Cherrio peasant.

For one she is not a nerd, as she is not obsessive and certainly does not lack any social skills, so that is an insult to me, being as she has not one single person that dislikes her. Meaning, she could calm a Grizzly Bear, tame a lion, is a delight to all and wishes the best in everyone one of us

Most of all she has always been and always should be Me Lady or Lady Cass

Love it. Now I do believe there was also a lifetime supply of brisket, sausage and ribs from Heim's included in this bet. Best you get to ordering that.

Agree with Cass Nerd means you are actually Smart, Geek means you like 'smart' pop culture

the best example is a Space Nerd is into Physics and Astronomy, a Space Geek is into star trek and Sci-Fi

Similarly a nerd likes dinosaurs and geek likes dragons
nerd likes ancient History,  geek likes Lord of the Rings.
etc...
. study study study

Apart from that. Laughing

I found the definition.

In British slang an anorak /ˈænəræk/ is a person who has a very strong interest, perhaps obsessive, in niche subjects. This interest may be unacknowledged or not understood by the general public. The term is sometimes used synonymously with geek or nerd, or the Japanese term otaku, albeit referring to different niches.

I think it's like a trainspotter. Laughing

Winter is so drab I hate wearing black coats.

Tbh, red doesn't really suit me, but I do like red coats. Everyone goes around in such drab coats in winter, as if it's not dull enough.

And the only nation to kick your butt burning your capital down lol

Graeme Garrard describes the events that led to the torching of the new US capital by British troops in August 1814 and considers the impact of the ‘greatest disgrace ever dealt to American arms’ on the US, Britain and Canada.

When James Madison, fourth President of the United States and ‘Father of the Constitution’, signed a declaration of war against Britain on June 18th, 1812 he could scarcely have imagined that two years later he would be fleeing from his burning capital before the invading enemy. At the start of the ‘War of 1812’, the first the US had declared on another nation, his friend and predecessor as president, Thomas Jefferson, had smugly declared that the war against Britain’s colonies in what is today Canada would be ‘a mere matter of marching’. As Madison abandoned the White House on horseback with his entourage and raced towards Virginia on August 24th, 1814 he stopped and looked back as he beheld the ruined city of Washington. The smoke from flames that engulfed it could be seen as far away as Baltimore, Maryland. Although he left no personal account of his feelings about these shattering events, the normally imperturbable president must have been deeply shaken by the turn they had taken, as were most Americans. What his many domestic critics had derisively branded ‘Mr Madison’s War’ had led to the only foreign occupation of the US capital in its history. Soldiers and marines under Major-General Robert Ross and Rear Admiral Sir George Cockburn put Washington’s public buildings, including the Senate, the House of Representatives, the Library of Congress, the Treasury building, the State and War Departments, the historic Navy Yard and the President’s House (as the White House was then known), to the torch. Exactly two centuries later, few people in the United States or Britain are aware of this national humiliation, the ‘greatest disgrace ever dealt to American arms’.

Damn straight sister!

Oh by the by - ive taken to making my own sausage rolls. Experimenting with spice mixes. Adding my favorite smoked Spanish paprika was a sheer genius move on my part.

Oh and as a pure coincidence we are having the last packet of proper chipolatas tonight with home made grainy mustard mash, Heinz beans and fried eggs. Heaven on a plate.

Grilled or boiled?
Not sure but they're lovely

I eat a veggie version which is just as nice - they're called Tivalli - I think they're Jewish.
Really nice with hot pepper sauce and beans.

Boiling hotdogs is insane.

Not really. You should do it to Brats first before throwing them on the grill.

Try a hot dog wrapped in bacon with cheese and American style chili on top. And spicy curly fries on the side and a giant kosher dill pickle as well. Throw in a ice cold beer and I will die happy Smile

Personal preference and sometimes time factor. I always keep a pack of Hebrew Nationàl and buns in the freezers and a box of Mac and cheese in the cupboard (I prefer spirals or white cheddar) for those nights when I get home and cant face opening a can of tuna. These I boil. If I can be bothered I bring out the George Foreman.

It's the nastiest way to prepare hotdogs. They should be grilled, or fried if you don't have the time for grilling.

Woman, don't tell me you don't have a frying pan!

Sorry. That was more forceful than is appropriate.
