Yet another sign that parental standards are dropping. Empty Yet another sign that parental standards are dropping.

Post by Syl on Wed Feb 17, 2016 8:57 pm

Following on from the news that a head teacher had written to parents appealing to them to refrain from wearing slippers and pyjamas when dropping their kids off at school in the morning, last week a head wrote to parents asking them not to use the school playground as a toilet.....someone obviously had. She pointed out that all children and parents knew where the toilets were, so to use them in future if the need arose.

Latest in the news, a primary school deputy head in Manchester, has written to parents telling them to refrain from smoking cannabis when they drop off and pick up their children from school.

More proof that some people are simply not fit to rear children?

Is it me, or are people just becoming coarse and unrefined and just downright nasty???

Who smokes weed at a children's school FGS?? Who lets their child piss in the playground or worse, takes a piss themselves in a school playground??

Have people no class or decency anymore?!!!!

Good point Stormee.
Presumably though there would be teachers on duty to make sure whoever enters the school is allowed to do so.

I think a minority of people have no class or decency....and probably never did have eddie.
Presumably some of these parents are driving whilst stoned too.

I have no problem with marijuana as a recreational use, after kids in bed and you're just chilling - no one needs to be stoned all day, as no one needs to be drunk all day!

But picking up your kids smoking a big fat joint?? What a no no!!

I agree eddie....what you do as an adult in your own time is your own business....what you do whilst caring for your kids, (primary kids at that) concerns other people.

Stormee, I used to work in this nightclub where a lot of young actors from a nearby theatre company used to come. None of them had made it yet, but some did go on to become famous. One young woman used to get sloshed often, she would leave the club at closing, squat and wee all over the floor in front of whoever happened to be there.
She went on to play posh refined women on TV......but some of us knew better. Twisted Evil

If they only have a tiny bit they would not be arrested.
Anyone smoking dope around children are lowlife

Any drugs around children is wrong.   Drunkenness around kids is also wrong along with swearing in front of them and smoking fags in the same room as them.   What kind of role model is a mother if she's slopping around in her smelly PJ's she slept all night in, half the day?   Get up and have a wash!   There's nothing wrong with standards, nothing snobbish about having some pride in your appearance or morals.   Children learn by example.   I can't tell you how many times I've seen children old enough to eat with a knife and fork, picking up their food with their fingers and eating with their mouths open.   Slovenly, lazy parenting.

Ah another self righteous idiot
So parents that need heavy pain killers which ultimately effect their thought process should not take them based on your stupidity then, because fundamentally they are drugs?
Who the hell are you to decide what is right for people and what is good parenting?

Many people I know take recreational drugs and are wonderful parents. Its the sort of idiotic beliefs held by brainless idiots such as yourself that come to such gibberish views

You really are an abusive soul, aren't  you?   Getting so uptight over another's posts.

Did I mention pain killers?   And no, I don't personally agree with taking recreational drugs in front of kids, be it smoking dope or dropping E's.   I don't care whether someone addles themselves with cocaine or takes themselves into a Ket Hole, but doing it around children is wrong.

I do love your line starting,  'Many people I know'   The old 'I can't crack on it's me so I'll pin it on a friend instead' psychology.   There seems to be no other logical explanation for your rantings and expostulations on the matter.  Having said that, you do sound like  someone who's paranoia and rage is fuelled by illegal substances.

Uptight?
Dear mew, no just I do not suffer self righteous idiots who think they are the best parents in the world or to offer who is
I am not surprised you are a bore and do nothing different, but expect others to do as you do
People all the time again drink with their children in the house and are not irresponsible which you seem to think it is, but then as seen, you seem to have the intelligence of a hamster, so I am not surprised
Most people who smoke actually makes them have more clarity as most do not have countless joints, which makes them stoned but again because you are so stupid you would not know this
So you then add with the most idiotic beliefs based on no medical or qualified position to state in regards to me

I would not trust you round children in a million years, as you seem a complete idiot
It also shows you have absolutely zero understanding of drugs

I love how you are hiding behind what your real identity is, now that is being and utter coward, or just fuels further my position you should not b e trusted around children, as you know doubt have some warped and twisted morality on how to raised them.
I suggest you take a long hard look at yourself before you judge others as parents as there is nothing worse than self righetous idiots

Of course not Korben, some on here have not got a clue, they associate drugs as if all are evil and wrong. No doubt some religious bullshit I am afraid.

on re reading this a couple of time i see a possibility you may have misunderstood my post, the first word "absolutely "was in reference to the red bit i highlighted and am in total agreement with

the rest was not addressed to your post but to the "some on hear" who don`t have a clue  and that was unclear in the way i wrote it

Indeed korben moderation of drugs is no bad thing and for others to claim to be self righteous is them using a story for all intents and purposes to belittle others to make themselves feel in someway superior to others. There is nothing more irritating how some seek to think their shit smells better than most as that is what it boils down to at the end of the day.

I mean how much if any of the this story is valid or exaggerated?
Is this more of an over zealous idiotic headmaster more to the point.

So you never drink then, which is a recreational drug??

Again for someone who has never taken them, how can you even say whether to associate or condemn?

I understand if you take anything which impairs your mind especially with children around you are irresponsible.

So having one pint or a smoke impairs  you then?

You see people associate as if people are abusing the amounts they take

Again one joint actually helps clarify and enhance perception

If a parent cant be bothered to get dressed out of their PJ's and slippers to take their kids to school, I doubt whether they can be bothered to make them breakfast or hold a job down themselves....and if they can they should get their finger out and set a good example to the kids.

It's not the fact that they are smoking cannabis, it's the fact that they are smoking it in front of their kids....who will all be under the age of 11.

Not sure how anyone in their right mind can condone that.

I think people should be allowed to smoke what is in effect no less harmful than tobacco

Except smokers rights are denied at every turn, to say they should not be allowed to smoke in the open air is daft

Smoking (legal stuff) and drinking is not against the law......it might annoy you that cannabis is still illegal, but it is.
But the main point is doing it in front of young kids is just plain wrong. Some things are not suitable to do in front of children. You think to disapprove is acting superior and looking down on others, I call it being responsible and having morals, obviously sadly lacking in these parents.

So what if they are smoking in front of kids, how are the kids to know its cannabis?
They are not going to know.
Are you saying now a parent should not smoke at all in front of a child or drink a glass of wine?

Really so now your claim is some kids are not stupid at that age?

Really, again what does it matter, as its no different to have a normal smoke, accept this one is far more relaxing.
What the real issue is really is peoples poor perception of cannabis itself where they have placed such absurd taboo's over and that is what it boils down to. Its not wrong and you cannot even reason that is wrong, as if it is then no person should smoke or have a drink in front of a child and no study claims this has such an effect its wrong to do, otherwise people would be banned or advise strongly not do

You are stupidly looking down on others, what you need is a spliff, then you might chill out and would realize what you are spouting is pure snobbery

What?? At least I read the link....you obviously didn't.

Do you understand the term "ILLEGAL?" the fact that's it's against the law to smoke hash makes it different.

Driving whilst under the influence of it is not only dangerous but obviously illegal too.....or do you casually ignore that to?

There are laws which govern drinking and being in control of young children, but laws shouldn't be needed to encourage parents to care for their kids responsibly.

What I need is neither here nor there....and I repeat, what you call snobbery I call morals.

sorry your wrong

i am one of thou`s parents (i don`t take your comment personally by the way Smile )

i have and do smoke to this day and have for long before my kids where born they both did well at school are polite well regarded responsible young adults ,nether smoke or drink ,my son is better at computer engineering than i am now aces all his collage work and looks like he will be offered a job at the collage

the only thing about the morals is that its breaking the law to smoke cannabis otherwise they would be no problem but that is changing and it will continue to change till eventualy it`s de-criminalised

my kids where never attracted to that because i taught them properly
Allowing/accepting  believing in a monkey see, monkey do, kind of parenting is failing your kids  hiding it only makes it more mysterious, remove the mystery removes the interest

as i have said many times to my kids
if you saw your pall jump of a bridge would you do it ?

And the classic "do as i say not as i do "

It's still against the law to be in possession of cannabis, so if these people smoke it openly they can't really complain if they get arrested for possession.

Your morals are based on backward morals, and yes I read the link of which you have yet to show any of it was real or valid or the ramblings of some loon headmaster

We are not talking about driving are we, so that is just plain stupid

Again what you need to prove beyond doubt that it is wrong to smoke even a normal cig or to drink in front of a child.
If not you are emphatically a snob

Its people like yourself that keep drugs illegal and place countless people in prison for utterly no reason

Again what do you base your morals on Victorian England?

They are out of date, so if I was you I would ask for a retest on them

I'm sure your kids are a credit to you.

I am not arguing against people smoking pot( or whatever the hell they like) I am arguing that it's wrong to do it in front of them...and in front of their classmates and teachers at the school gate.

It's good to teach kids to have a mind of their own, teaching by example is also good.

You seem overly concerned about who I am.

Lol the judge and jury of morality based on the 19th century its seems by Sly

Get a grip, if it was not illegal, you would not even have an issue as do you have an issue when a parent has a glass of wine in front of a child?

No, so your reasoning is not based on morals but a skewed view of pot based on its legality
