Be careful out there.

Did you notice that there are that many unwhites there that it gets dark at noon.

Birmingham is a dangerous place, even police dogs go around in twos.

Here on my own so not venturing out. I guess I'm not in the best of areas. I'm a country girl, it's probably just me!!!

I'm a scaredy cat!!

Why is it I don't scare easily?

Must be my London upbringing lol

Yeah, what's wrong with Birmingham?

I didn't feel scared in London - well not of people in the street anyway. In fact, the more people who were around, the better it was really. It's those empty, lonely, country lanes which are scary. Laughing

Honestly, dodgy men hanging around. I dare not walk through them. A woman alone, over night bag. Clearly with no clue where I was going. I felt very vulnerable. I'd rather be alone in the countryside pale

There is nothing to be scared of in the country Raggs, honest. I've broken down loads of times before mobile phones and had to walk in the dead of night to a phone box. I'm still here Smile

There wasn't loads of people about and those that were made me feel uncomfortable affraid

Like a lamb to the slaughter

What is it about the people that makes you think they are dodgy and intimidating enough to make you feel unsafe?

I live in Brum, salt of the earth most of the natives,
but keep away from Alum Rock and Sparkbrook.

Are you stopping at the Hilton Hotel, that's on the site of the National Exhibition Centre witch is about 1 mile from my house in Marston Green?

Where did I say Asian faces? Would you like to retract that comment? Are you insinuating I'm a racist? You should get your facts straight before you post and let's face it, that post was just another of your petty attempts to have a go at me Rolling Eyes

What is it? Are you jealous?

Hi Nicko x

I stayed in Waterloo Street in the Premier Inn. Very comfy beds and nice if quiet bar and restaurant.

I saw your post about the car, bollards, posts they've got a lot to answer for Twisted Evil lol!

Nothing wrong with Brummie. Spent some time in Stourbridge and I went into Birmingham a fair few times and it's just like any other major city with areas off the main drag where some may feel a little bit uncomforatble but on the whole it's fine.
I went to Dudley as well just to see the stanied glass window of one of Dudley's most famous sons Duncan Edwards sadly taken before his time along with the others that perished.
The only problem I really had was understanding what some of the locals were saying but I suppose they probably would say the same about me.

Agreed Irn

I'm pleased to say I woke up to a completely different Birmingham.  Full of life, people everywhere, buzzing, exactly what I'd expected to find the day before.

I'm so pleased that I got to see the other side x
