HELP

Post by Syl on Sun Jan 03, 2016 5:40 pm

I keep getting logged out....it takes 10 or 20 attempts sometimes to get back in, then when I do, go to post, and I'm gone again.

Can anyone help please....it only happens on one other forum and not as often as it does here....I don't get logged out anywhere else.

I've been trying to help via pm and have suggested deleting cookies etc

Are you using an iPad or PC, Syl?

How old is your PC? It could be that it's the actual computer?
It's not happening to anyone else as far as I know?

Which browser are you using? I just checked the support forum and I don't see anything about maintenance.

I've been using Chrome without problems for a while now, but when I have had problems I've switched to Firefox for a while.

Hopefully that works -- maybe Edge is too new and Forumotion needs to make some tweaks to work correctly with it.

What's funny is how a browser can go from reliable, to crap, to amazing, to just so-so -- over and over, with each update Smile

My brother developed (and develops still) a lot of their online programs, crosswords and other stuff I can't remember and he told me that MSE is all you need on a home PC and he's not been wrong
He's a twat of a brother but he's PC clever clever clever. He built a PC from scratch when he was about 12 or 13 with the help of my other brother. It Made really funny noises and I remember them making a pacman game lol and being really excited!
The first game they made was that tennis one - do you remember that? Just two white bars hitting a square "ball" lol!

pong ? that was made by atari in the 70s  ? so one would assume your brother is ether Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney or Atari engineer Allan Alcorn who designed and built Pong as a training exercise.

Don't know what it was called but they "made" or recreated the game themselves - I didn't suggest they invented it?
I said they "made" / put together their own computer - I never said they invented computers!
Really Korben, don't try to insinuate I made it up. I forget how odd you can be sometimes, or how you seem to misunderstand what someone has said.

I wish I hadn't bothered engaging in conversation.

FFS you insinuated it you said "The first game they made was that tennis one- do you remember that? Just two white bars"

that tennis one was called pong made by atari as i said
So tell me  how am i to remember as you suggested a game your brother "made" ? one that probably never was sold on the market
don`t blame me for your error in the relating of your story because what you  said and the way you said it implied your brother made pong the only game i /we all remember as you said

And i never said anything about inventing computers ether that incidentally was Charles Babbage
And i have no problem understanding when the person explaining can communicate a story accurately some thing you failed to do

all you had to say was "i meant a game LIKE that tennis one Not "was that tennis one"as you said as was is being use (wrongly) as the definite artical in your sentence ie Pong

you then digressed and   said "He built a PC from scratch"
that had nothing to do with pong but a poor attempt and biging up your brothers skills and i made no comment about that as it isn`t really that impressive to be honest been there done that at circuit board level not just plugging bits together as that`s all building a "pc" is
i could train a 5 year old  to plug bits together....oh wait i did  ..........twice

but i forget how difficult it is for you to admit an error on your part so don`t try to switch your what was in all likely hood a honest grammatical error to me.
instead of the personal attack and derogatory comment
one presumes English is your first language

I use Firefox, and I also use MSE. It's OK and it doesn't slow down your computer too much. It did fail to pick up one particular trojan, so I had to use something else to get rid of that.

I once had an awful bug on my old PC....it froze it up and a notice appeared that said the Met police had knowledge that there were links to child and animal pornography and hate sites on my laptop.
However they kindly said they would unfreeze my machine if I submitted my bank card details and paid them £125 in the only page that seemed to be working.

We did the same Nicko. The police said it was a well known con but they took all the details.
They actually called me back twice over the next couple of months to see if everything had been sorted.

I thought at the time they take less notice when someone has been robbed.

As Ben knows, I had the same problem. Also, tons of pop-ups. I was using Firefox and switched back to Chrome. Made all the difference. Now I'm flaw free.

It started the moment I downloaded their ad filter. Did you just download something?
