Justice Minister Shaked Is 'Neo-Nazi Scum,' Says Hebrew University Professor

Shaked files police complaint against Dr. Ofer Cassif; political science lecturer defends his comments: 'it's fair to compare Israel to Germany in the 1930s.'

Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked has filed a police complaint against Dr. Ofer Cassif, a political science lecturer at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, who roundly attacked her on his Facebook page on Monday.

Cassif called her “neo-Nazi scum” and said she is an indirect partner to murder and crimes against humanity in Africa. He also wrote that Shaked is responsible for making Israel more fascist.

The professor wrote the comments when he shared a separate post from Prof. Amiram Goldblum, a lecturer at the Hebrew University pharmacy school. Goldblum wrote that Jewish-Belgian diamond dealer “who sold weapons to murderers in Sierra Leone and the Colombian drug cartel” was among the donors to Shaked’s primary campaign in Habayit Hayehudi.

“Your hands are steeped in blood,” Cassif said in his post.

Serge Muller, who contributed to the primary campaign of Shaked’s as well as of Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan and Tourism Minister Yariv Levin (Likud) was arrested in March on an international warrant by Belgian police on suspicion of drug trafficking, selling arms to criminals and money laundering, according to a Channel 2 report in June.

The comments on social media sparked outrage from several government representatives including MK Moti Yogev (Habayit Hayehudi) who called on the university to distance itself from Cassif and to consider firing him.

In their own response to media inquiries however, the Hebrew University spoke against such actions.

"The University is not responsible for the comments of the lecturers and it is not [the University's] job to deal with them as long as the academic stage is not being exploited to distribute them," the Hebrew University said in a statement on Monday. “Anyone who believes this or another statement constitutes incitement or a violation of state laws should turn to law enforcement authorities.”

Shaked responded herself to the Facebook post, calling on the authorities, rather than the university, to handle the matter.

"Today the frail line was crossed between freedom of speech and incitement and the poisoning of the public discourse," said the justice minister. "I'm sure that law enforcement will deal with this incident in the appropriate manner."

Cassif, however, was unapologetic. "I don't see what (to apologize) about," he told Army Radio in an interview. "Becuase I told the truth? I usually tell the truth." The professor continued to flirt with controversy when he told Israel Radio in a separate interview, "I think it's fair to compare Israel to Germany in the 1930s, and not to the years of genocide."

"The spotlights," said Cassif, "need to be aimed at the minister and her government, not at me ... we have moved into a completely different phase in the history of this country. We are now the Germany of the 1930s and this is expressed in the completely Nazi video that Im Tirtzu released and also in the nonprofit organization law.

"I'm not afraid of anything," he continued when the possibility of a police investigation was raised. "If they call me in, I will come respectfully. Maybe I will go with a tag of a (foreign agent) proudly to the police."

Asked what his students should think about his post, he replied: "my students must understand that freedom of speech, criticism and a strong, non-violent opposition are the building blocks of democracy."

"This is the worst case of incitement against an acting justice minister since the founding of the state," Education Minister Naftali Bennett, who is also the leader of Shaked's party, Habayit Hayehudi, said. Bennett added that he has asked Hebrew University President Prof. Menachem Ben-Sasson to look into the incident. Bennett said he refuses to label the lecturer as a "leftist," and said: "We must stop the mutual accusations and work to reduce the level of incitement."

Opposition leader Isaac Herzog also addressed the incident on Twitter, calling Cassif's comments on social media "pathetic," and condemning the Facebook post.

My, a woman who called for all Palestinian mothers to be killed has the gall to say this is incitement lol

So again the claim is made with no comparrisons.
Again there is no comparrison to Nazi Germany, as fundementally the people of Israel have majority secular laws that provide equality to many of the citizens. If anything again the Palestinians have a far better claim to being compared to Nazi Germany.
Start a conflict to wipe Israel off the Map
Germany started a conflict to wipe Poland off the map
Palestinians glorify terrorists and murders, just as Hitler and Himmler did with the Waffen and General SS
Both Nazi Germany and the Palestinians both rejected terms of a treaties.
In israel you can vote for a new Government, in the Palestinian territories you cannot, again very much like Nazi Germany.
Both used terror and fear against their enemies.
Both used hate and libels to deligitimize Jews as people
Both go one further to deligitimise Jews as civillians, to the point they can they kill Jews.

I could go on, but it seems this professor might want to read his history again as it seems very poor indeed

So fundementally nothing to compare then?
One Minister who accusatiinbs are made against.

Okay with me you get evidence.

The Palestinian Arab Nationalism movement arose concurrent to, and influenced by, Nazism and had the same goal as Hitler's Final Solution: the extermination of all Jews. Jeudophobia is real. Christophobia is real. Islamofascism is real. Islamophobia is bogus.

The man to the left of Adolf Hitler is Hajj Amin al-Husseini, the Founder of the Palestinian National Movement in 1916-17 who would become the undisputed leader of the terrorist faction known as the PLO, aka, the Palestinian Liberation Organization.

On Yom Kippur 1928, Jews brought chairs and screens to prayers at the Western Wall. Amin el Husseini used this innocent move as an excuse to launch a jihad against the Jews. Beginning in August 1929, after rumors had spread that Jews from Hebron had attacked mosques and Muslims in Jerusalem, an enraged Arab mob began stabbing, axing, decapitating and disemboweling 67 men, women and children on the first day alone. At least 133 dead and 331 were injured. Again, in 1936-1937, al-Husseini led a series of Arab Revolts that further decimated the indigenous Jewish population.

The British, with no guts to oppose the Arabs and possibly lose its oil rights in Saudi Arabia, further reneged on its multiple promises to the Jewish people by limiting all future Jewish immigration and land purchases.

The movement that was started by Jews in the late 1880's to buy desert land from more-than-willing Arabs sellers at outrageously inflated prices - some as high as 1200% was called "Zionism" because "Zion" was the Biblical reference to both the ancient nation of Israel and its capital, Jerusalem. The desire for a people to have a country of its own is known as, "Nationalism" and every other country in the Middle East that was also carved from the land captured and occupied at the point of a sword by the former Ottoman Empire was given one.

What made Zionism unique was that Jews were returning to the same land from which they were exiled according to the prophesies of the Bible, and after they turned that desert into an oasis, Arabs living around them decided to move there and work in the high-paying jobs that the Zionists were providing. Today, if you asked any Arab wanting to relocate to another country in the area, which one they would choose, 78% would pick Israel if they could keep their responses hidden.

But, back in the late 1920's and early 1930's, Nationalism was in full swing in Germany and in Italy, Russia, and Japan.

When Amin al-Husseini was elected the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, the highest religious position in the region, his importance caught the eye of one Adolf Hitler, who became not only his close friend and ally, but also the co-architect of the Holocaust - the dream that Husseini has first conceived after the genocide of the Armenians in 1915 by the Ottoman Turks.

The founder of the Muslim Brotherhood in 1928 was Hasan al-Banna - a Marxist-Islamist who, like Hitler and Husseini, also wanted to rid the Middle East of all Jews. Amin al-Husseini, The Grand Mufti, also became the leader of the Muslim Brotherhood in the area known as the British Mandate for Palestine - which was called "Falastin" or "Palestine" for short. What Husseini envisioned was a unified Palestine in place of the land the British has set aside for the Jewish Homeland - from the River to the Sea.

The Muslim Brotherhood became the model for all radical Islamic groups spawned since 1928. In 1964, the PLO - aka Fatah - had organized itself within the refugee camps as a secular Palestinian terrorist group, and has remained that way ever since

The PLO took on the name, the Palestinian Authority, after Bill Clinton dragged former PLO leader, Yassir Arafat, out of exile, and put him in charge of all Palestinians - but it's charter was no different than the original PLO charter, vis-a-vis, calling for the total destruction of Israel and the Jewish people.

According to the San Remo Agreement signed and adopted in 1920, the British Mandatory for Palestine was to be responsible for putting into effect the declaration originally made on November 8, 1917, by the British Government, and adopted by the other Allied Powers (Britain, France, Italy, & Japan), that favored the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people.

The thread is about Ayelet Shaked who has asked that someone is prosecuted for incitement, when her words were:
