animals in cages

Post by nicko on Sat Aug 29, 2015 5:31 pm

Grandaughter just phoned me very upset. she is Drayton Manor Zoo, that's in the West Midlands. She says there are Monkeys in cages with no cover from the Sun trying to cover themselves with pieces of paper. There is one Monkey on his own in a cage rocking backwards and forwards looking very distressed. NO keepers around to complain to. NO animals should be kept in cages!

Does that go for prisons?

I am concerned. Did she call someone? I should think y'all have the SPCA in the UK. Perhaps PETA.

utterly wrong Nicko, as both you and I know.
trouble is the RSPCA wont have the balls to take on the zoo, they prefer to rerrorise old granny's with a couple of cats that need a bit more brushing.....

like "yeah we got a prosecution" "aint we good"

or harrass legitimate shooters on some pretext or other whilst ignoring the gross breaches of the rules (and simple humane treatment" carried out by the govt and "big business"

That's awful, I hope something's done.

I actually like zoos, but they need to have fenced habitats, not cages. If you don't have a big space, don't put a zoo there.

My mum never took us to zoos or circuses - she hates anything like that.
I wanted a parrot once but she said it's cruel.

I must admit, I love zoos but I do know it's fundamentally wrong....as is wearing and using leather, which I love.

a good thing about Sydney is the 2 zoos we have are built in the modern era and have enclosures instead cages.

Melbourne zoo is a old style zoo (like I assume this one is) I cant see why people visit them they are depressing
